Study: Media Significantly Exaggerate Racism at Tea Party Rallies

October 14th, 2010 4:13 PM
Not that we needed a study to tell us this, but according to one conducted by a UCLA grad student, media coverage of Tea Party rallies has dramatically overrepresented the presence of racist or other offensive signs there. According to the Washington Post, which laudably reported on the study today, UCLA grad student Emily Ekins found that "media coverage of tea party rallies over the past…

'Taking Back America' Wasn't Racist Until Liberals Stopped Saying It

October 14th, 2010 12:37 PM
As it's grown in influence and power, the Tea Party movement is increasingly being attacked by fearful liberals looking for ways to paint it as racist. One of their favorite lines of late is that the desire to "take the country back" is actually veiled bigotry, even a call to return to institutionalized racism. Considering how many liberals used this phrase during the Bush 43 administration,…

Fear and Loathing From the Left

October 13th, 2010 8:03 AM
Do you have your John Boehner Halloween costume yet? I know it's not flying off the shelves of your nearest costume headquarters, but you'd never know that listening to President Barack Obama and those who exist to keep the Democratic Party in power. After Obama's recent attempts to demonize the pro-life Republican Ohio congressman -- and presumptive House Speaker, after the midterms -- the…

Tea Party 'Racial Epithets,' Six Months Later

October 12th, 2010 2:43 PM
It’s been more than six months since the left accused Tea Party protesters of calling members of the Congressional Black Caucus “racial epithets” while they were walking to the Capitol to cast their historic votes for health care reform. Despite the fact no video or audio (until now) has surfaced, showing any Tea Party protester in the act of racially slurring elected officials, and despite…

MSNBC President Claims 'We're Not Trying to Push Democratic Talking Po

October 12th, 2010 7:15 AM
Howard Kurtz quoted MSNBC president Phil Griffin in two stories in Monday's Washington Post, and both quotes seriously strained credulity. In a front-page story on how politicians campaign on cable news, Griffin tried to argue that they're not simply a Democrat talking-points factory and promoter of Democrat candidates. Oh no, claimed Griffin, just because Republicans choose to decline their…

Matt Lauer Tries to Tie Paladino to Crime, Might Take Kids to Gay Prid

October 11th, 2010 4:16 PM
NBC's Matt Lauer questioned Carl Paladino on Monday's Today about his recent controversial remarks on homosexuality, and hinted that his comments might prompt "violence against homosexuals" and suicides of homosexual youth, such as the recent case at Rutgers. When Paladino attacked Andrew Cuomo for taking his children to a "gay pride" parade, Lauer implied that he might take his kids to such an…

WaPo Wrings Hands Over 'Onslaught' of Spending by GOP-friendly Groups

October 11th, 2010 1:29 PM
Four years ago, frustrated with President Bush and the Republican Congress, voters handed over to Democrats the gavels to the House and Senate chambers. Weeks before the 2006 election, the Washington Post matter-of-factly noted that "Outside Groups [Were] Shoveling Cash Into Tight Races." In that 24-paragraph October 3 article, Post staffers noted massive independent expenditures being…

President Obama Still Angry At Supreme Court…And, Well, Everyone Els

October 11th, 2010 11:19 AM
Democrats love their SEIU union money, but when small business people’s voices are represented by the Chamber of Commerce, fury erupts from the administration. Watch this Axelrod interaction with Bob Schieffer. Axelrod mentions the Supreme court case. They just cannot let it go. Here is the president blasting the Supreme Court in his radio address:

UAW Workers to Picket ... the UAW; They Should Also Picket the White H

October 11th, 2010 10:50 AM
Following up on yesterday's post ("Government/General Motors, UAW Hose Long-Time Members Twice in Two Weeks"; at NewsBusters; at BizzyBlog) -- What a "revolting" development this is, as reported in the Detroit News: GM Orion assembly workers to picket UAW over two-tier wage structure In an unprecedented move, Government/General Motors and the UAW are imposing a two-tiered wage structure…

Government/General Motors, UAW Hose Long-Time Members Twice in Two Wee

October 10th, 2010 8:54 PM
Solidarity, schmolidarity.  It was one thing when the United Auto Workers agreed many years ago to temporary "two-tiered" wage structures at the plants of Detroit's Big Three automakers. After all, it was argued, they'll be brought up to a level of full pay and benefits in several years, and new employees aren't as productive as the veterans.

Newsweek's Clift Plays Democratic Strategist with 'What Obama Must Do

October 8th, 2010 6:16 PM
Apparently the political death panel at Newsweek is resigned to the fact that the Democratic Congress is DOA come November 2. Thus braced for the impact of a possible Republican congressional takeover, uber-liberal Newsweek writer Eleanor Clift donned her political strategist cap to openly advise Obama that how, "Just as Clinton did in ’94," he'll need to "reaffirm his relevance and return to…

'Media Mash': Media Ignore Belafonte Slam on Tea Party; Amanpour Accus

October 8th, 2010 11:29 AM
While the "media will wade into a Tea Party event with hundreds of thousands of people looking for that one brain-dead Lyndon LaRouche follower" who says something asinine that they can plaster "all over the news," they have ignored the insane rhetoric coming from featured speakers at last Saturday's "One Nation Working Together" rally, NewsBusters publisher Brent Bozell told viewers of the…

Media Parrot Far-left Blog's Smear Campaign Against Chamber of Commerc

October 6th, 2010 2:21 PM
A number of media liberals are up in arms over a far-left blog's inconclusive investigation - replete with innuendo and assumption - purporting to show that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce has illegally spent funds obtained from foreign entities on political campaigns in the United States. Of course near-identical efforts by a handful of the most powerful labor unions have not been mentioned.…

NYT Shocked People Would Read Nobel Economist Hayek, Ponders Strange C

October 6th, 2010 10:53 AM
Kate Zernike, the New York Times's Tea Party reporter, can add another scalp to her collection. This one belongs to ‘obscure' Nobel Prize-winning economist Freidrich Hayek and his wacky theories like "rule of law.""Once-obscure texts by dead writers" such as Hayek, wrote Zernike, are full of "long-dormant ideas" and strange arguments like Hayek's claim, as summarized by Zernike, that "government…
