Less than an hour before Wednesday night’s unveiling of the Fake News Awards, MSNBC’s Hardball assembled a panel to condemn media criticism and fake news accusations as the impetus behind authoritarian crackdowns on the press, but also offer an almost erotic tribute to the media’s supposed objectivism and commitment to fighting President Trump.

Conservative talk radio legend Rush Limbaugh came locked and loaded for Wednesday’s show, torching the liberal media as “childish,” “unstable,” and “entirely unfit to discharge their constitutional duties” in light of their “unhinged instability” at Tuesday’s White House press briefing concerning President Trump’s health.

Continuing to bask in the liberal media accolades ahead of Wednesday’s anti-Trump speech, Republican Senator Jeff Flake (Ariz.) appeared on the CNN International and PBS show Amanpour, making nice with host Christiane Amanpour to defend liberal journalists and compare President Trump to murderous Soviet leader Joseph Stalin.

Leftists in the media don’t like to be called out for their liberal bias. When that happens, their knee-jerk response is to lash out with petty ad hominem attacks. A perfect example of this reaction came in The New York Times’ Paul Krugman’s January 15 column, “Know-Nothings for the 21st Century.”

On Sunday's AM Joy, MSNBC contributor and Vanity Fair contributing editor Kurt Eichenwald smeared Fox News as being a "speaker phone for the white nationalist movement" and claimed that the news network "has a lot of anti-Semitic viewers." He went on to push a conspiracy theory that FNC has a history of deliberately messing with the earpieces of himself and other guests to make them look bad.

Speaking on the Friday edition of the Fox News Channel’s Your World, MRC President Brent Bozell came out swinging against the liberal media and their refusal to cover stories of economic growth under President Trump, telling fill-in host Trish Regan they “loathe him” so much that “if he finds a cure for cancer, they'll attack him for not curing AIDS.”

After all three Thursday network morning shows gushed over Barack Obama being David Letterman’s first guest on the former late-night host’s new Netflix series, on Friday’s NBC Today, correspondent Willie Geist seized on the former president deriding Fox News viewers during the interview, even while condemning “divisiveness” in the country. 

On Sunday’s Meet the Press, NBC’s Chuck Todd sat down with journalist Michael Wolff to discuss and promote his dubiously sources anti-Trump gossip book Fire and Fury. During the interview, the NBC host seemed to let it slip that the “entire media” was pushing an anti-Trump narrative and claimed that the book confirmed their accusations.

ESPN on-air talents sure have a lot of respect for the network's policies on politics and social media -- not! Recent hire Katie Nolan just hit President Trump with an F-bomb, and ESPN let her off without any punishment for her transgression. The Sporting News and USA Today Sports excused her disrespectful behavior away as just "having fun."
