All Quiet on the Feminist Front: Attacks on Women in the Trump Admin

Culture
May 8th, 2017 4:27 PM
Incest. Prostitution. Brainless beauty. Liberal media people have accused the most prominent women in the Trump administration of these and more. Yet, hypocritically, feminists have been slow to defend Kellyanne Conway, Ivanka and Melania Trump against these blatantly sexist attacks.

NBC & CBS Censor Context to Make GOP Rep. Look Bad

May 8th, 2017 4:13 PM
On Monday, NBC’s Today and CBS This Morning deceptively edited comments from Republican Congressman Raul Labrador to constituents at a recent town hall meeting while discussing the GOP health care plan. While the Idaho representative was actually dispelling an outlandish false claim from a left-wing protester at the event, the two network morning shows ignored that context in an effort to make…

Chris Matthews: 'Rooting' for Trump, 'Used to Think' Polls Were Honest

May 8th, 2017 3:50 PM
In a two-minute video posted at PJ Media on Sunday, MSNBC's Chris Matthews stated that he wants Donald Trump to succeed, and that he "used to think" that presidential preference polls were honest, but "they were wrong." This is pretty odd coming a guy who, as seen in several recent NewsBusters posts, has frequently compared the Trump family to the Romanovs, and who has seemed to encourage people…

Nets Swoon Over Obama’s Call for ‘Courage’ to Keep ObamaCare

May 8th, 2017 1:03 PM
On Monday, the network morning shows were openly gleeful that former President Obama used his speech accepting a Profile in Courage Award from his liberal friends in the Kennedy family to trash Republican efforts to fix the mountain of problems created by ObamaCare. The ABC, CBS, and NBC broadcasts managed to ignore any of those failures as they cheered on Democratic efforts to use the issue to…

‘American Eloquence’; MSNBC Panel Goes Gaga Over Obama Receiving Award

May 8th, 2017 12:45 PM
On Sunday night, the thrill inside of MSNBC’s Chris Matthews was alive and well for Barack Obama as he anchored a two-hour special swooning over the “American eloquence” of the President as he received the Profile in Courage Award from the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library.

2017 MTV Movie and TV Awards Pushes Gender 'Fluidity'

Culture
May 7th, 2017 10:52 PM
The 2017 MTV Movie and TV Awards televised on May 7th was hosted by comedian Adam DeVine and spotlighted some changes from past years. This year was all about embracing gender neutral acting and genre neutral media by including men and women in the same category and television shows and movies in the same category. Apparently nothing matters enough anymore to honor distinctly female or male…

ABC’s Pretend Republican Dowd Pushes for Socialist Health Care

May 7th, 2017 2:42 PM
ABC commentator Matthew Dowd is supposed to help the network have a sense of being non-partisan by being their token Republican guest. But during his appearance on Sunday’s This Week, he seemed to show off his true political bent as he pushed for socialized medicine. “We need to ask the question, should we go to a single-payer system? Because affordability hasn't been fixed by this or ACA. And…

Carlson Grills Obsessed Dem Strategist Claiming Media Defeated Hillary

May 6th, 2017 6:27 PM
Democratic Party strategist Peter Daou is among the sorest of all the sore losers having a hard time handling Hillary Clinton's November electoral loss to Donald Trump. He has been ranting for weeks on Twitter about how sexism hurt Mrs. Clinton, how "THE PLAYING FIELD ... (was) TILTED AGAINST HER" (yes, the original was in all caps), and even that the media "helped Trump win." Friday, Daou took…

WashPost’s Double-Standard on Trump, Clinton WH Firings

May 6th, 2017 12:15 PM
It is always amazing to see how the media bias game is played. This time? This time the culprit is The Washington Post and a story headlined as follows: "White House fires its chief usher — the first woman in that job."

Buzzfeed's Ben Smith: Journalists Aren't 'Political Activists'

May 6th, 2017 10:42 AM
In a segment on media bias on his Wednesday evening Fox News show, there was an interesting juxtaposition between host Tucker Carlson's short opening flashback to a conversation with Reuters reporter and White House Correspondents Association President Jeff Mason at Reuters and the live conversation he had with Buzzfeed Editor Ben Smith. Smith incredibly insisted that "people don't get into the…

Stealing Away Childhood Innocence

May 6th, 2017 10:30 AM
It’s fair to say most people missed the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards from March 11. That being said, the show was so trashy and off the charts, it made last year look tame by comparison. The hits included sexually-charged musical performances and drug use references. While Nick would argue that their target audience was eight or ten to 16, most watching were in the six to 14 age range.

NY Mag Falsely Claims Rape Is a Pre-Existing Condition In AHCA

May 5th, 2017 8:44 PM
Early Thursday morning, New York Magazine published an online item which claimed that "rape is a pre-existing condition" under the health care bill which has passed in the House. As Reason.com noted, "None of this is true. Like, not even a little bit." That appears not to be the point, though. The point of engaging in such irresponsibility appears to have been to get it out there so that at least…

The People vs. the Press

May 5th, 2017 4:24 PM
President Trump and I have something in common. We were both invited to last Saturday's White House Correspondents' Dinner and we declined. The president wasn't interested in hearing himself mocked by an industry that holds him to a different standard than his predecessor and I wasn't interested in hearing the predictable jokes denigrating all things Republican, conservative and Fox News.

Campus High Jinks and the First Amendment

May 5th, 2017 4:19 PM
WASHINGTON — Well, she did not show up. I am talking about Ann Coulter, the svelte conservative firebrand who was invited to speak at the University of California, Berkeley, and, inadvertently, to show the assembled coeds how a stylish blond dresses. But then, she was disinvited. Hold on -- she was, of a sudden, re-invited but only under certain university conditions.
