Like watching a bad telenovela with its predictable, bad acting- so is watching the legacy media cover Bad Bunny’s much-hyped Super Bowl halftime show. In today’s episode of that bad soap opera, NBC Nightly News covers a throwaway line as if it were a major rift directly involving the President of the United States.

Univision’s claims of moderation and abandonment of advocacy agenda journalism are to be taken with a giant brick of salt. At its heart, the network remains an immigration advocacy organization, with affiliates and a news division. On Wednesday, the late night comedians received their government shutdown-related marching orders. On Saturday afternoon, MSNBC host Alex Witt gave no pushback when Congresswoman Julie Johnson (D-TX) responded to a terrorist attack on ICE agents in her state by seeming to justify it as she accused agents of "terroristic" behavior. She also seemed to call the attack part of "a generalized frustration" against ICE's "unreasonable clampdown" and "a response to an outrage."
