Football writer Peter King veered far out of his lane Monday, using his sports column to preach for gun control. He also called this country the “United States of Guns.” In his column Football Morning in America, he demanded more gun laws and called for a ban on the sales of AR-15 rifles. 

On Friday, New York Times "fact checker" Linda Qiu evaluated claims made by Sen. Ted Cruz and former president Donald Trump at the NRA convention in Houston. Her nitpicking of Cruz as "misleading" and "exaggerating" was especially selective and shape-shifting.

Appearing on the early Saturday/late Friday edition of the Fox News Channel’s Fox News @ Night, NewsBusters managing editor Curtis Houck took on the best and worst in the liberal media, slamming the liberal media for their “misinformation” campaign on guns with hyperbolic rhetoric that “doesn’t accomplish anything.”

On Friday’s Deadline: White House, MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace colorfully insulted the gun-rights crowd as “swathed in frothy delusion that someone is coming to take their guns.” She couldn't recall Texas's own Beto O'Rourke promising "Hell yes, we're going to take your AR-15" in a presidential debate.

On Sunday’s Meet the Press, anchor Chuck Todd used the opening segment of his show to ridicule the calls for thoughts and prayers for the nineteen young children and two teachers who were shot and killed in the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde Texas.

On her MSNBC show Saturday morning in a segment on Uvalde and its ramifications, Tiffany Cross and her two guests were in agreement [Cross at one point telling her guest that she's "preaching to the choir'] that  "at the very least "assault weapons should be "removed," and that we should be "disarming police, demilitarizing police, and abolishing policing as we know it."

MSNBC’s Morning Joe is a show where all of the conversations are typically dominated by main host Joe Scarborough and co-host Mika Brzezinski. Viewers who actually possess some form of sanity are usually subjected to the two hosts constantly ranting, complaining, and crying wolf on the GOP. During Saturday’s Alex Witt Reports on MSNBC, Yasmin Vossoughian had a message to any American who wishes to purchase an AR-15: “join the military.” Vossoughian backed up her self-righteous reporting from Uvalde by falsely claimed that the AR-15 is given to members of the military when they enlist.

The fact that some Americans do not agree with MSNBC The 11th Hour host Stephanie Ruhle led her to ask presidential historian Douglas Brinkley just how “sick and divided” America is. With no sense of irony, while lamenting these divisions, Ruhle suggested the Civil War never ended.

As the National Rifle Association holds its convention in Houston, CBS Saturday Morning lamented that Republicans “remain in lockstep with” with the organization and decried the partisanship showed at the convention, but of course they only meant Republican partisanship. Accusing people of killing children is just the other perspective for CBS.
