Over the weekend, MSNBC host Ali Velshi -- who has also served as a business correspondent for NBC -- was very upfront about some of his liberal views on economic issues as he not only declared himself to be a "huge proponent" of a Canadian-style single-payer health care system, but he also voiced agreement with liberal activist Reverend William Barber's push for more government intervention to fight poverty.
If a recommendation made by a Canadian official becomes law, TV networks, news websites and social media companies in that nation might have no choice but to become licensed by the government or lose their ability to operate in that country. The proposal was made by Canadian Heritage Minister Steven Guilbeault, who was assigned to update the country’s broadcasting laws and stated that even Internet news sites will each be “asked” to obtain a government-approved license.
President Trump was correct in spirit when he predicted, at the Oval Office on Thursday, that “the USMCA will probably be second” as the liberal media would be hyper-focused on his Impeachment trial in the Senate. It was a prediction a little too favorable to the media seeing as ABC, CBS, and NBC completely ignored the Senate’s overwhelming and bipartisan approval of the United States –Mexico-Canada Agreement on trade during their evening newscasts.
World leader and queen of the mean girls, Justin Trudeau has got lefty tongues wagging over video of his alleged gossip about President Donald J. Trump during this week’s NATO summit. And even though Trudeau is an effete, blackface-wearing hypocrite, celebrity twitter heralded his behind-the-back antics as some heroic Trump takedown. Of course this is the pettiest news of the year, but then again, this is both Canada and Hollywood we’re talking about.
A recent survey conducted by the Victims of Communism and polled by YouGov, a research and data firm, found that 70% of millennials are likely to vote socialist and that one in three millennials saw communism as “favorable.” Let's examine this tragic vision in light of the Fraser Institute's recently released annual study “Economic Freedom of the World,” prepared by Professors James Gwartney, Florida State University; Robert A. Lawson and Ryan Murphy of Southern Methodist University; and Joshua Hall, West Virginia University, in cooperation with the Economic Freedom Network.
Certain horrified Canadian female spa workers can rest easy today, after beating a court case that almost forced them to pay for refusing to wax the nether regions of a trans woman on account of the fact that “she” had very male genitals. Jessica Yaniv, the infamous transgender plaintiff who sued female spa workers for “discrimination” for refusing to wax her male genitals, lost her civil rights court case this week.
Viewers tuning in to New Amsterdam to learn who died in the terrible ambulance accident from the spring finale will be shocked by the answers in the series premiere. What won’t shock them was that NBC’s medical drama was packed tighter with liberal views than the hospital’s emergency room was filled with patients. No change there from last season.
The revelation that Canadian Prime Minister wore brownface on multiple occasions as an adult has thrown a wrench in a northernly neighbor's election cycle as the world's most woke leader is now the subject of international scrutiny for his past behavior. Back home the media has pursued the usual "pouncing" angels, but CNN contributor Wajahat Ali took the opportunity on Thursday's CNN Newsroom to espouse some hot takes of his own, including that, "conservatives don't seem to like black and brown people."
Another prominent liberal leader has been engulfed in a racism and blackface scandal, this time Canada’s very progressive Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Although all the networks covered it, they made sure to frame the story as conservatives “pouncing” on the politician. CBS This Morning actually managed to ignore an ideological label for Trudeau. On NBC’s Today, Craig Melvin introduced the story this way: “While he has apologized overnight, his rivals have been quick to pounce.”
While Hurricane Dorian was headed for Florida and possibly the rest of the East Coast, some liberal media types have nonetheless used the bad weather as an opportunity to take yet another shot at President Trump. That was the case during the past few days, when Kim Campbell tweeted that she hoped the catastrophe “scores a direct hit on Mar-a-Lago,” the resort owned by the President, and many reporters across America couldn’t be happier.
The Trump administration made positive headlines on Wednesday after Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar announced the United States was looking at allowing FDA-approved drugs to be imported from foreign counties, such as Canada, where they were cheaper. Despite previously decrying the skyrocketing price of prescription drug costs, that evening, CBS Evening News chose to ignore that major proposal to aid struggling American families and instead hyped a new statue in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
It’s sometimes hard to remember, but just 75 years ago thousands of Canadian soldiers assaulted Juno Beach, fought like (very polite) grizzlies, and left a trail of dead Nazis and empty Molsons from Normandy up through Belgium, Holland and on into Northern Germany. And many of them did it while dragging around bicycles! Tough guys. Proud, too.
