MRC 'Don't Believe the Liberal Media!' Posters Make Politico.com Front
January 20th, 2012 4:04 PM
Last week our "Don't Believe the Liberal Media!" poster was seen by millions of viewers of CBS's Evening News. Today, our posters plugging stopthebias.org were featured in a Politico.com photo montage.
We hope the CBS cameraman and Politico's photo editor aren't hitting the unemployment line because of this, but we're glad the message is getting out to consumers of liberally-biased outlets.…
Obama vs. Christie and the Future
January 20th, 2012 3:47 PM
Whose job would you want to have? Would it be President Barack Obama's or Governor Chris Christie's in the great state of New Jersey? Would it be President Obama's, whose budget woes are getting graver, or would it be Governor Christie's, whose budget is at least looking to be survivable?
Now Obama is facing the choice in his budgetary decisions. Does he raise taxes only on families making $1…
America Wants Conservatives to Stand Up to Liberal Bullying
January 20th, 2012 3:37 PM
I wish Republican politicians would have faith in the largely conservative electorate and not behave as though they'll make themselves unelectable unless they pander to Generic Moderate. Who is that guy, anyway? Have you ever met him?
Recently, we've seen a few examples of the liberal narrative's rearing its oppressive head and starkly different reactions to it. The first was Mitt Romney's…
Smarmy Brian Ross Touts His 'January Surprise,' Eagerly Digs for Gingr
January 20th, 2012 12:57 PM
ABC trotted out the "best of" Newt Gingrich slams on Thursday, finally revealing the results of an exhaustive Brian Ross interview with Marianne Gingrich, the former Speaker's ex-wife. Ross boasted that his scoop could be seen as a "January surprise" to harm Gingrich. Recycling old attacks, Ross eagerly prompted the ex-Mrs. Gingrich: "You know his secrets. You know his skeletons."
How…
Bozell in WMAL Interview: ABC's Gingrich Story Has 'Awful Taint of Rat
January 20th, 2012 10:50 AM
ABC News's Marianne Gingrich interview has "that awful, awful taint of Rathergate to it," timed as it was "to do the most amount of damage it possibly could to Newt Gingrich's career," NewsBusters publisher Brent Bozell complained in an interview with Washington, D.C. news-talk station WMAL's Morning Majority program.
While Marianne Gingrich may be "entirely honest" in her claim, she is "…
'Today' Show Groupies Fawn Over 'Crooner-in-Chief' Obama: 'He Could Be
January 20th, 2012 10:27 AM
Having apparently run out of actual news to cover on Friday, the cast of NBC's Today gushed over President Obama singing a line from the song "Let's Stay Together" during a fundraiser at the Apollo Theater. After a clip played of the musical moment, weatherman Al Roker proclaimed: "He could be on The Voice." News anchor Natalie Morales excitedly added: "Sign him up." [Listen to the audio or…
Appearing on 'Kudlow Report,' Bozell Hits ABC News for 'October Surpri
January 20th, 2012 8:25 AM
At the very least the timing of ABC News's interview with Gingrich ex-wife Marianne Gingrich is suspect. At the very worst, it is completely inappropriate if it failed to be newsworthy and respectful, NewsBusters publisher Brent Bozell told CNBC's Larry Kudlow on his January 19 Kudlow Report.
"In some respects, aren't they obliged to get it out as fast as they can," Kudlow countered, adding…
Scarborough: Conservative Leaders All Tell Me They Want Brokered Conve
January 20th, 2012 7:43 AM
"I've been talking quietly to the most powerful, I think, conservative movers-and-shakers in Washington over the past couple weeks, trying to get their read. Are we really going down this path? Every single one I've spoken to is trying to figure out a way to get to a brokered convention."
That was Joe Scarborough on Morning Joe today. For good measure, Scarborough also stated as a simple…
CBS's Rose Touts NY Times Spin on Romney's Wealth Being 'New Hurdle
January 19th, 2012 6:39 PM
Charlie Rose ripped a new liberal line of attack on Mitt Romney right out of the New York Times on Thursday's CBS This Morning, as he interviewed top Romney backer Chris Christie. Rose played up that Romney "seems to be dancing around the idea of what his wealth is. This is the New York Times today: 'Romney riches are being seen as new hurdle; complex web of assets is difficult to assess.'"…
Dem Convention Press Briefing Attended by 500 Journos Kept Strictly Of
January 19th, 2012 5:52 PM
So the Democratic National Committee (DNC) gave a walk-through Wednesday for network journalists planning on covering the party's nominating convention this summer in Charlotte.
But while the DNC is trumpeting the convention as "the most open and accessible in history," the Charlotte Observer's Mark Washburn complained that the briefing, attended by some 500 journalists, was kept strictly off…
The Strongest Case Against Romney Is a Few Sheets Short of a Ream
January 19th, 2012 5:29 PM
Mitt Romney has spent more than 20 years in private enterprise, making thousands of business decisions affecting hundreds of companies that led to more than 100,000 new jobs and billions of dollars for employees and investors. So you can see why the left despises him.
Among Romney's thousands of business decisions, the one I gather his opponents consider his absolute worst was the decision to…
Bozell Statement On ABC's January Surprise Against Newt
January 19th, 2012 1:00 PM
It is not necessarily inappropriate for a news outlet to interview a candidate’s former wife. However, three conditions must be met: 1) Is it newsworthy? 2) Is it fair and respectful to the families involved? 3) Is the timing appropriate?
On the timing issue alone it is clearly inappropriate for ABC to run this interview on the eve of the South Carolina primary. This smacks of an October…
WashPost Editorial Slams Obama's Nixing Keystone Pipeline, But Then Ca
January 19th, 2012 12:45 PM
In denouncing President Obama's rejection of the Keystone XL pipeline project today, the Washington Post gets it right, but not for the Right's (pun intended) reasons, defending the job-creating project from a liberal position.
The Post editorial board argued today that approving the Keystone XL project "should've been an easy call for the administration." "We almost hope this was a political…
Embarrassing: ABC's Jake Tapper Skips Keystone Decision, Shills for Ob
January 19th, 2012 12:22 PM
Who is Jake Tapper shilling for? The Obama administration or the Disney corporation? Over the two hours of Thursday's Good Morning America, there was not one mention of the administration's decision to reject the Keystone oil pipeline, costing at least 20,000 jobs. Yet, Tapper and ABC found time to promote both the administration's plan to create a "small world full of tourists who want to…
