Huff-Post: 'Americans Don't Care What Race Santa Is -- Except For Republicans'

December 20th, 2013 11:30 AM

If you thought the issue of Santa's skin color was going to die, you don't understand how the media works.

Consider the leftists at the Huffington Post who actually published a piece Friday with the misleading and inflammatory front page headline "Americans Don't Care What Race Santa Is - Except For Republicans."

From that headline, one would imagine that only Republicans care what race Santa is, and that Democrats and Independents don't. Inside the article, readers learned the truth:

Most Americans don't care about Santa's race, according to a new HuffPost/YouGov poll, but nearly half of the Republicans surveyed think Santa should be portrayed as white. [...]

Although Democrats (by a 68 percent to 20 percent margin) and independents (by a 61 percent to 31 percent margin) said that they don't think it matters what race Santa is, Republicans were slightly more likely to say that Santa should be portrayed as white than that it doesn't matter. Forty-nine percent said they think Santa should be white, while 45 percent said it doesn't matter.

So 20 percent of Democrats and 31 percent of Independents also think Santa should be portrayed as white.

You wouldn't have thought that reading the inflammatory headline, would you?

The article also neglected to mention that 4 percent of blacks and 29 percent of Hispanics also think Santa should be portrayed as white.

I guess this would have been counter to the Post's agenda.
