Mark Levin Accuses NBC News of Racism and 'Promoting Racial Division in This Country'

As NewsBusters has been reporting, so-called "news" organizations have been routinely calling leading Republican figures racists for having the nerve to criticize the policies of President Obama.

On Monday, conservative talk radio host Mark Levin specifically called out NBC News not only for its on-air talent being "blindingly white," but also for "promoting racial division in this country" (embedded audio follows with transcript and commentary):

MARK LEVIN: Let’s go play their game a little bit. Let’s look at NBC News. A very, very white guy is in charge of the company that owns NBC News. NBC News is run by very, very white guys. "Meet the Press" has only had white guys in the anchor chair. "NBC Nightly News" – a white guy. Let’s look at their bastard off-child, MSLSD: Chris Matthews – the whitest of the white guys; Joe Scarborough – white; Ed Schultz – fat and white; Larry O’Donnell – mental patient and white; Rachel, what is her name anyway, Maddow – white. It’s so white over there I’m blinded.

Isn’t it great they’re standing up for minorities over there? “Where’s the EEOC? Oh yes, the EEOC. Why don’t they investigate the on-air talent, take a look at their statistics as they’re wont to do. Are twelve, thirteen, fourteen percent of the on-air talent black? No. How about Hispanic? No. Why not? Why not, David Gregory? Why not give up your post, David Gregory to somebody of color? Racism abounds over there at MSNBC and NBC. I suppose, right? Just look at it: Blindingly white.

So then they get a Republican on, and they know we have a black president, or at least half black, and they go right for the issue, don’t they? Racism. Because Gingrich points out, I mean, in addition to flubbing badly on the Medicare issue, which he basically admitted on the program, but that doesn’t mean that David Gregory gets a pass. David Gregory, they go into their political toolbox, and what do they pull out? “He said what? He said what? Some people think?” Who would that be, David Gregory? You and your staff. You and you liberal Democrats? "Some people think that when you called Obama the food stamp president, you know, that has a racial connotation." Really? Isn’t that interesting?

Well, some people think, Mr. Gregory, that your question has a racial connotation. Not just race-baiting, but prejudice, because apparently now it is the official position of “Meet the Press” that if you’re on food stamps, you’re black. I just wanted to clarify that point, because otherwise the question makes no sense. Or, that a majority of the people are on food stamps are black, which is not true. And yet that is the inference. Well, why would Mr. Gregory make that inference? Sure he’s not prejudice? Why would he do that?

Unbelievable. This country in this day and time, we have a media, certainly as illustrated by NBC, that’s promoting racial division in this country.

For the record, here are some recent examples of NBC and affiliate MSNBC promoting racial division in this country:
