Hypocrisy and venom pump through the veins of the liberal ladies of ABC’s The View. Three weeks after they falsely claimed Georgia-14, the home of Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R), was gerrymandered and inflated, co-host Sara Haines declared that Greene and her district were insignificant compared to other districts and that the Congresswoman wasn’t worth listening to because of it.
This conversation about Greene was sparked by her Sunday interview with CBS’s 60 Minutes in which she condemned the Democratic Party for their efforts to sexualize children. Haines whined about getting called out for her ignorance of firearms and called Greene the ignorant one:
And let me clarify one thing from that soundbite. There are people that say if you are not a gun owner, you talk about guns, you sound dumb. She sounds really dumb veering into LGBTQ+, because transgender – gender-affirming procedures are not about sexuality or sexuality orientation. It’s about gender. So, the fact that she does not know the difference, she probably should not speak to it at all because it is insulting to everyone involved.
She went on the demean Greene as a “not consequential” political figure because she’s from “a super small Republican district” and won “a very small election.”
Again, Haines put her ignorance on full display because congressional districts are supposed to have comparable population sizes to keep enfranchisement as close to equal as possible.
But if she wants to split hairs, Georgia-14 is not a “super small” district. As NewsBusters noted in our fact-check of The View’s baseless gerrymandering accusations, the district is made up of 11 counties (Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Floyd, Gordon, Murray, Paulding, Polk, Walker, Whitefield, and a little piece of Cobb). And according to the U.S. Census Bureau, it has a population of 777,456. So, it has both a large geographical footprint and a substantial population.
Let’s compare it to a Democratic district whose representative also gets a lot of media attention. How about Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who represents New York-14? Her district is made up of a culmination of New York City neighborhoods and has a population of 696,136. It’s very unlikely that Haines would find this district of little consequence.
Bringing the heat back to CBS, co-host Ana Navarro argued that people like them were angry for “more than” just them speaking to someone who represented somewhere so insignificant. “Listen, I think the reason people are upset at 60 Minutes because it’s such a respected program, Lesley Stahl is such a respected journalist. And so, people hold them up to a high level and this is not the level we expect of them,” she lamented.
Racist co-host Sunny Hostin proclaimed Greene “looked like an idiot” as she started flapping her arms and whining about Stahl not bringing “the receipts” to push back during the interview:
What I – And I hate to do this because I think Lesley Stahl is such a great journalist. I wanted statistics and pushbacks. Well, why do you say that? Who have you heard say that? What about this statistic? What about that? I mean you know Lesley always got a book full of receipts. Where were they?! Where were the receipts?! They weren’t anywhere and it was very frustrating.
Perhaps there were no receipts because there were none to bring. Hostin certainly didn’t present any herself.
Sara Haines's disdain for Georgia-14 was made possible because of lucrative sponsorships from Unilever and Febreze. Their contact information is linked.

SARA HAINES: I actually think, in this instance, it was a bad move for 60 Minutes.
But, I also think she's not consequential. So, when we talk about platforming people that – Donald Trump, a president, someone that you kind of have to deal with or you are not truly addressing it. Marjorie Taylor Greene was elected in a super small Republican district. And from her election in 2020, she lost 60,000 votes in a very small election.

SUNNY HOSTIN: What about the deal with Kevin McCarthy? How about his elevation of her?
HAINES: Would you argue that the people in those committees are not singly her making this decision? She’s one voice.
ANA NAVARRO: It’s more than that. I think the reason – Listen, I think the reason people are upset at 60 Minutes because it’s such a respected program, Lesley Stahl is such a respected journalist. And so, people hold them up to a high-level and this is not the level we expect of them.

HOSTIN: I don't have a problem with her having that platform because I thought she looked like an idiot. And I think a lot of people got to – as per my argument of camera in the courtroom, let us see what you have to say.
