NewsBusters Podcast: Return of the Masks, Our Bias-Busting Interns

July 28th, 2021 3:38 PM

On today’s podcast, Curtis Houck and I discuss the return of the mask. No, not the 90’s R&B hit Return of the Mack by Mark Morrison, but the return of the CDC’s demand that everyone return to wearing facemasks including those of us who have played by the rules and have gotten vaccinated already.

While some in the liberal media were happy to put on their masks as the most outward and passive signal of their virtue, some were eager to push back. Curtis walks us through some of the pushback White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki received from a peeved press pool.

We also cover the theatrical proceedings known as the January 6 Select Committee hearings. On that front, we saw former Senator turned MSNBC pundit Claire McCaskill whine that not enough Americans were watching the hearing as if they had nothing else better to do with their lives like juggling work, school, and making ends meet with President Biden runaway inflation.

And finally, our summer-long plan comes to fruition as Curtis and I sit down with NewsBusters’ fantastic summer 2021 interns Kevin Tober, Bridget O’Neal, and Charlotte Hazard. They tell us a little about themselves, what they enjoy about their internships so far, and we tell them what they add to the team here.

If you or someone you know is in college or has recently graduated, the deadline to apply for the Media Research Center’s fall internship class is September 1! You can apply HERE.
