Scarborough Says NYET To Any 'Snarky' Criticism of Biden's Handling of Ukraine!

March 16th, 2022 2:29 PM

Joe Scarborough had two modes of reaction to everything President Trump did -- either snarky or infuriated. But on Wednesday's Morning Joe, he made clear his anger at any people who dared to offer "snarky" critiques of President Biden's "historic" handling of the Ukraine situation.

And in particular, Scarborough would not tolerate any "clown" who would suggest that Donald Trump might have done a better job than Biden.

Less than a month ago, it was Mika who found Biden's reaction "isn't strong enough." But now, apparently, Biden is ready for Mount Rushmore.

Anonymous Democrats were brought to bear: "My sources high up in the administration, at the Pentagon, telling me that there are weapons systems going over there that we don't even know about. Because they don't want Putin to know about them. And of course, that's the way it should be."

SCARBOROUGH: What has been done thus far is nothing short of historic. Let me say that again for people writing snarky op-eds about this administration and about congress and about the United States response. What has happened over the last three weeks is nothing short of historic.

And anybody suggesting that Donald Trump would have done any of this, please. Please, start your clown show somewhere else. We don't want to watch it. We don't want to hear it.

Suddenly there should be no dissent from the most pro-Biden spin imaginable? Biden critics should be neither seen nor heard!

Then Scarbrough asked Jonathan Lemire "Is Joe Biden getting frustrated despite this historic alliance, despite the historic aid flowing into Ukraine, that he's still getting attacked domestically?" Again, Scarborough sounds like he wants Tucker Carlson and other critical journalists to be censored, if not in the hoosegow.

Lemire said his sources said the White House was a little frustrated with "Republicans, mainly but a few Democrats as well who are promoting unrealistic scenarios, including that no-fly zone."

Joe Scarborough saying "we" don't want to see or hear criticism of Biden's "historic" response was sponsored in part by Allstate, AT&T, and DirecTV

Here's the transcript.

JOE SCARBOROUGH: You go down the list of the United States has given Ukraine so far--$13.6 billion. As David Ignatius said, just an extraordinary amount of arms flowing across the Polish-Ukrainian border.

My sources high up in the administration, at the Pentagon, telling me that there are weapons systems going over there that we don't even know about. Because they don't want Putin to know about them. And of course, that's the way it should be.

Is there a growing sense of frustration at calls to do more? When in fact, as the ambassador said, who agrees, we need to do more.  What has been done thus far is nothing short of historic.

Now, back to the question, Jonathan. Is Joe Biden getting frustrated despite this historic alliance, despite the historic aid flowing into Ukraine that he's still getting attacked domestically?

JONATHAN LEMIRE: Yeah, I posed this question yesterday at the White House to several administration officials. And the answer was, there is some frustration from the White House toward domestic politicians. Republicans, mainly, but a few Democrats as well who are promoting unrealistic scenarios, including that no-fly zone. But officials really stressed to me: there's no frustration toward President Zelensky. Who is, yes, asking for things that President Biden can't provide. But they understand it. His country's very existence is at stake. They understand why he is doing so.
