Hold the impeachment presses, Nancy: Mika Brzezinski's got an additional article for you—the high crime of blackmail!
On today's Morning Joe, Mika strongly suggested that President Trump is blackmailing Lindsey Graham and Marco Rubio. She first wondered out loud what Trump "has on" Graham. She later suggested that the President has dug up "dirt" on Graham and Rubio, and has them "under his thumb," coercing them into saying positive things about him. In the case of Graham, it was his praise for Trump's comments on Iran. As for Rubio, it was his positive comment on the briefing on the Iran situation given to senators.
Flinging around allegations of presidential blackmail is serious stuff, but not for the liberal media. And ironically, it is the flip side of a favorite MSM theme -- that Putin has dirt on Trump which he uses to blackmail him into support for Russia.
Note: Mika's alternative explanation was that if President Trump isn't blackmailing the senators, he could be bribing them. Either way, be sure to let Nancy know, Mika: we've got ourselves a new article of impeachment!
Here's the transcript.
6:00 am ET
LINDSEY GRAHAM: This is on par with Reagan's "Tear Down this Wall" speech.
. . .
JOE SCARBOROUGH: Whewwww! Lindsey, it's just not worth it, Lindsey. It's just not worth it.
MIKA BRZEZINSKI: Whatever you're getting, it's just not worth it.
MIKA: What's he got on ya?
. . .
SCARBOROUGH: Marco Rubio, saying the briefing was swell. When, of course, by all accounts, it was an absolutely horrific briefing.
. . .
MIKA: In this case, you just have to wonder about Trump's patterns. Very vintage Trump is to dig up dirt on people, or exchange some sort of favor, and he has them under his thumb to say things that are ridiculous. To say things like, that was the best briefing I've ever seen in my life. You have to wonder if that's the case here.
