Eyeroll: Here's Jim Acosta's Obnoxious Christmas Gift Idea for Fox Viewers

December 20th, 2021 12:32 PM

It’s a stiff competition to beat Brian Stelter for the most annoying CNN journalist, but Jim Acosta showed he is always up to the task, this past Saturday.

The CNN Newsroom host made a mockery of the true meaning of Christmas by suggesting his viewers give their “far-right” family members the gift of media “truths” this Christmas, by printing out CNN articles for them to read. Yes, really!

The cherry on top was Acosta smugly making light of the recent case of arson against Fox News’ Christmas tree.

Acosta began by taking aim at Fox News and their viewers over the leaked January 6 texts between Mark Meadows and some Fox News hosts.

Riffing off the classic Christmas poem, "Twas the Night Before Christmas," Acosta mocked, “Over on Fox in primetime, there was such a scare as some of the texts were coming from there. But the next night, the anchors behaved as if they felt no dread. As they hoped their own viewers would not remember what their texts said.”

But the cleverness ended there. Acosta went on to attack “disgusting” FNC hosts Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham as “North Korean state TV” “covering up the misdeeds of a wannabe dictator.”

How charming. He scolded,Guys, you've been busted on your bullshit, on your betrayal.”

Referring to Trump supporters and FNC viewers as a “cult,”  Acosta smugly suggested his liberal viewers make Christmas cards decorated with Fox personalities on the cover, but fill them with CNN and other MSM media articles.

“Perhaps you know somebody, somebody in your family, somebody in your neighborhood that needs a little more than Christmas cheer. They need the truth, gift-wrapped. Just for them. Consider putting together a little folder of articles,” he instructed before showing off his obnoxious idea:

Here's mine. I’ve got an Associated Press story in here, reporting that they found fewer than 475 cases of voter fraud in the battleground states that helped decide the 2020 election. Plenty of other great CNN articles in here as well. If you have those, you can -- if you have kids, you can have them decorate the folder. On the cover of mine, I have the Fox News Christmas tree, there it is, along with some photos of Sean, Laura and Brian. Don't forget tiny Tucker. He's right there. And God bless us, everyone, including Vladimir Putin.

So when your relatives start going on about how the election was stolen, just calmly hand them this yuletide folder. Feel free to personalize it, with how you celebrate this time of year.

Because he clearly really wants to bring families together, Acosta hoped his viewers would send him their CNN Christmas cards. "And in the meantime, send me some of your photos of your folders. So if you make one like this, [holds up Fox folder] tweet a picture at me and we'll feature them on the show," he offered.

He made the case once more for why this petty act was necessary: "Now why go through all of that effort, you ask? I think handmade gifts are always the best this time of year. That's what I tell my kids, but think about this. It's the holidays. Perhaps you’ve heard something about peace on earth, goodwill to all? It’s worth a shot."

I'm pretty sure bombarding your relatives with CNN articles as a "gift" to make them agree with your politics has absolutely nothing to do with Jesus' gift to humanity.

CNN Newsroom with Jim Acosta

JIM ACOSTA:

What's even more disgusting is that Fox News host Laura Ingraham, Sean Hannity, they've been caught red-handed acting like North Korean state television, lying to their viewers about what happened that day, covering up the misdeeds of a wannabe dictator, blaming antifa sympathizers for January 6th, and downplaying the violence of the days that followed. Guys, you've been busted on your bullshit, on your betrayal.

...

All of this talk about the holidays has given me an idea though. How we can break through all the noise on the far right. Perhaps you know somebody, somebody in your family, somebody in your neighborhood that needs a little more than Christmas cheer. They need the truth, gift-wrapped. Just for them.
