ABC Panics Over McCarthy Victory: U.S. Fiscal Security in Jeopardy!

January 8th, 2023 10:35 AM

Two days after Kevin McCarthy won his hard-fought battle to become Speaker of the House of Representatives after 15 rounds of voting and bargaining between McCarthy and House conservatives, ABC's This Week moderator George Stephanopoulos opened the program on Sunday morning to panic over what the next two years could mean for the United States now that McCarthy is second in line for the Presidency. In fact, it's the same tired lines that pseudo-journalists like Stephanopoulos have spewed the last two times Republicans won control of Congress (in 2010 with the House, & in 2014 winning control of the U.S. Senate and expanding their majorities in the House): "Republicans are going to let us default!"

This time was no different and Stephanopoulos wanted to make sure he didn't bury the message he wanted to convey. "On the second anniversary of the January 6 insurrection, Kevin McCarthy clinched his decade-long quest to be Speaker of the House," Stephanopoulos falsely claimed. January 6 was not an insurrection and McCarthy won the Speaker's election early Saturday morning which was January 7.

"It came with concessions to the most extreme members of his caucus. The help of the former President he denounced on the House floor two years ago, and the prospect of two more years of brinksmanship over his hold on the office, the fiscal security of the United States, and the basic functions of governing," Stephanopoulos cried.

What he means by "the fiscal security of the United States" is the defaulting on the U.S. debt service, which the left consistently claims will happen if the debt ceiling isn't raised whenever they demand.

Sadly, you can be willing to bet that the leftist media will do everything they can to cover for Biden and Senate Democrats over the next two years and blame any crisis or controversy on Speaker McCarthy and House Republicans.
