Nets Endorse Trans MT Rep. Saying Opposing Transgenderism Means You Support Suicides

April 26th, 2023 7:43 PM

Wednesday’s broadcast networks brought the first batch of broadcast network stories trashing the push to protect women and girls from biological men and children from medical castration by the Montana state legislature and cheering the latest leftist hooliganism.

Worse yet, they cheered transgender Representative Zooey Zephyr (D) — a man pretending to a woman — threatening anyone who supports such legislation means they wholly support murder and suicides of transgender people since they’ll have “blood on [their] hands.”

So much for civility. It’s hard to have a country and civic society when the left and their media allies accuse tens of millions of eagerly supporting mass killings and suicides. Remember that the next time the press insists they’re for all Americans.

CBS Mornings was the lone morning show on the case. Their chyron put their thumb on the scale: “Protests Over Silenced Transgender Lawmaker; Zooey Zephyr Silenced After Comments on Anti-Trans Bill.”

“Now to Montana and the growing outrage over the treatment of a transgender lawmaker. Public protests in the legislature were met with police in riot gear on Monday. This was the third straight session that Democratic state representative Zooey Zephyr was barred from speaking over a comment she made about a bill to ban gender-affirming care,” bemoaned co-host and Democratic donor Gayle King.

“Standing defiantly, Monday, Montana House Representative Zooey Zephyr raised her arm holding a microphone to amplify the voices of her supporters demanding she no longer be silenced,” correspondent Meg Oliver breathlessly proclaimed.

Only after noting Zephyr faces penalties did Oliver play what Zephyr said:

OLIVER: For over a week, Zephyr has been barred from speaking on the House floor until she apologized for her comments opposing a Republican bill banning gender-affirming care for minors.

ZEPHYR: If you vote yes on this bill and yes on these amendments, I hope the next time there is an invocation, when you bow your heads in prayer, you see the blood on your hands.

Oliver later wrapped by gushing that, in an interview on CBS News Streaming, “Zephyr says she is not apologizing...and, in fact, she would say it again.”

All three “big three” networks of ABC, CBS, and NBC covered the fallout as Montana’s heavily Republican legislature (68 Republicans to 32 Democrats) voted to censure Zephyr for the remainder of the session.

The CBS Evening News was outraged. With the chyron reading “political firestorm,” anchor Norah O’Donnell blasted “the political turmoil” against Zephyr for merely “criticiz[ing] Republicans over their votes to ban gender affirming medical care for minors.”

Saying Republicans support people committing suicides isn’t exactly “critici[sm],” Norah.

Correspondent Carter Evans huffed that, prior to the vote, Zephyr “made an impassioned plea” that the lawmaker said was “in defense...of democracy.”

He continued (click “expand”):

EVANS: Zephyr had spoken days earlier during a debate on Montana's proposed ban on gender affirming care for minors.

ZEPHYR: If you vote yes on this bill — [SCREEN WIPE] — you will see the blood on your hands.

EVANS: Today, the states first openly transgender representative refused to apologize for those remarks.

ZEPHYR: I have had friends who have taken their lives because of these bills — [SCREEN WIPE] — so when I rose up and said, there is blood on your hands, I was not being hyperbolic.

EVANS: Laws targeting gender affirming care for minors have exploded around the country. 15 states now have bans in place. 17 more, including Montana, are currently considering a ban. At the start of the year, just three state governments had bans.

NBC Nightly News was also on the pro-Republicans-support-suicide team. Anchor Lester Holt griped in a tease that the GOP had “punish[ed] a transgender lawmaker,” adding at the start of the segment that Zephyr was voted off because of “a heated back and forth over gender affirming medical care for kids.”

On a side note, notice how the liberal media never explain how chemical castration works. Isn’t it similar to how they esoterically blast parents for wanting graphic sexual material removed from schools?

Correspondent Anne Thompson joined in on siding with Zephyr, calling the remarks “fiery” ahead of the vote on banning child castration and touted Zephyr as “refusing to apologize” (click “expand”):

THOMPSON: House Republican leaders said the Democrat broke decorum and prevented her from speaking in floor debate. Then she was accused of inciting this protest on Monday.

PROTESTERS: Let her speak! Let her speak!

THOMPSON: Republican leaders making the case against her today.

MONTANA HOUSE MAJORITY LEADER SUE VINTON (R): “No person may participate in conduct that disrupts or disturbs the orderly proceedings of the body.”

THOMPSON: Zephyr refusing to apologize.

ZEPHYR: When the speaker asks me to apologize, what he is — on behalf of decorum, what he is really asking me to do is be silent when my community is facing bills that get us killed.

ABC’s World News Tonight brought up the rear with a 22-second news brief in which anchor David Muir similarly downplayed the “blood on their hands” remark, only saying it was “Zephyr criticizing a bill banning gender affirming care for transgender minors.”

This liberal media-wide swooning over a man pretending to be a woman and insisting opposing liberal policies means people will commit suicide was made possible thanks to the endorsement of advertisers such as ADT (on the CBS Evening News), Angi (on ABC), Ensure (on CBS Mornings), Liberty Mutual (on NBC).
