MSNBC's Nance: Pro-Trump Vets 'Not Honorable,' 'Bigotry' in Deporting Illegals

On Saturday's AM Joy, MSNBC terrorism analyst Malcolm Nance declared that veterans who "love Trump" are "not honorable" during a discussion of some of President Donald Trump's history of trashing Senator John McCain. And a bit earlier, the MSNBC analyst claimed that efforts to combat illegal immigration are a part of "institutionalized bigotry" and "racism" toward Latin Americans.

At 10:54 a.m. Eastern, after host Joy Reid brought up California Republican Rep. and veteran Duncan Hunter defending some of President Trump's negative attacks on McCain, Nance began his analysis: "The difference between what's going on with Trump's military base and the rest of the military is very weird."

A bit later, he moved to trashing veterans who support Trump as he added:

And these military people love him, all right? And I'm just going to come right out and say it: not honorable military veterans. Because an honorable military veteran, if they had heard this story, would have said, "You know what, there's a line, and that line has now been crossed." But they have this cultish love of him where the love of Donald Trump exceeds the Constitution -- exceeds the honor of everyone who has sacrificed and lost in this nation.

In an earlier segment, the group had discussed Attorney General Jeff Sessions announcing efforts to combat illegal immigration, and also White House chief of staff John Kelly's comments that low-skilled immigrants have more difficulty assimilating. Liberal MSNBC contributor Jason Johnson invoked "white nationalism" as he began: "This is what we have been saying all along about white nationalism, if we're just going to be candid about it, They're saying certain parts of people from certain parts of the world are somehow incapable of experiencing America the way other people have."

A bit later, when Nance got his turn, he complained: "It's like they have a department of hatred and heartlessness now, and they are taking out trials to see who's going to be the director and the assistant director. "

The MSNBC analyst soon tied in "bigotry" and "racism" as he concluded: "This is just -- let's be honest about it -- it's a form of institutionalized bigotry based on racism against people coming from the South. And until we recognize that, they will keep insisting that this is the top national security priority of the United States."
