Phew! We can relax, America. Everything’s going to be okay. Jennifer Lawrence is taking a year off from acting to save us from ourselves.

Lawrence -- one of the finest constitutional minds ever to come out of post-apocalyptic adolescent adventure films -- is going to “fix our democracy.”

“I’m going to be working with this organization I’m a part of: Represent.Us.” she explained. “It’s just trying to get young people engaged politically on a local level.” So she’s taking up the vital work MTV Rock the Vote pioneered, but not exactly. “It’s just anti-corruption and stuff trying to pass state-by-state laws that can help prevent corruption, fix our democracy. And then I don’t know what I’m doing next.”

Her decision couldn’t come at a better time. Several key states have been working to pass versions of The Anti-Corruption and Stuff Act. And Lawrence is already doing her part. She “made a surprise appearance at an Ohio high school to teach a government class about fixing corruption in America’s electoral process.”

Not sure what corruption she’s talking about, but we can be sure it’s the kind that those evil people in the Capitol … er, I mean Republicans, are into. So no worries America. Lawrence is on the case and she’s gonna have our democracy [Shhh -- don’t tell her we’re a republic!] in tip-top shape.
