'American Idol' Tries to Idle Worship

Singer Colton Dixon is utterly devoted to his Christian faith, but “American Idol” producers don’t think he has a prayer of winning the competition.

According to New York Daily News there’s no room for Jesus or his followers on the show, and “Idol” producers asked Dixon to refrain from being outspoken about his religious views.

Dixon was warned that his Christian devotion would send voters the wrong message and ultimately cost him winning the competition, despite the rise of other Christian figures such as sports stars Tim Tebow and Jeremy Lin.

“Idol” hyped previous Christian contestants Jason Castro and Kris Allen, but when when met with resistance from anti-religious viewers it would appear they are now singing a different tune.
