CNBC’s Kernen: ‘Out of Touch’ NY Daily News Is a ‘Rag,’ Not Worth a Dollar

The Daily News’s provocative covers aren’t impressing everyone.

Squawk Box co-host Joe Kernen slammed the newspaper on Feb. 19, 2016, calling it a “rag” and a “joke” whose papers weren’t even worth a dollar.

"The Daily News is out of touch, they have him [Donald Trump] in clown outfits, they do the gun stuff constantly, ” Kernen said. “The Daily News is you know they've tried to sell themselves. They asked for a dollar and that was too much. So, I think that sums up The Daily News. They tried to get a dollar, who's going to pay a dollar for that rag?”

Kernen made the comments after fill-in co-host Kayla Tausche brought up the newspaper’s cover which branded Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump the “Anti-Christ.”

He said he doesn’t read the paper and only does “the Jumble.”

“That's all The Daily News is good for at this point," Kernen declared.
