After having been up most of the day, the long day for MSNBC’s Chris Matthews dragged on into the 11:00 p.m. Eastern hour as the Hardball host argued that Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is “growing in political ability and reach” with his New Hampshire victory and could court “the Democratic center right now” as well as “center right” Democrats (as if there‘s any of them left).

Commenting on Hillary Clinton’s concession speech to Bernie Sanders Tuesday night as the New Hampshire primary results came in, CNN panelists Van Jones and former Democratic Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter ruled that Clinton was “learning,” “listening” and putting out a “very important” “message” despite her loss and narrow Iowa win.

In dual network special reports at the top of the 8:00 p.m. Eastern hour, ABC’s George Stephanopoulos and NBC’s Chuck Todd expressed their amazement at the “political earthquake” by the New Hampshire primary victories from Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump that will serve as “a shot across the bow at both political parties” despite the polls long predicting this very result.

Former NBC Nightly News anchor Tom Brokaw provided a history lesson on the New Hampshire primary during the 4:00 p.m. Eastern hour of MSNBC’s political coverage and when describing the situation on the Democratic side in 1992, he claimed that then-Arkansas Governor Bill Clinton lost the Granite State “amid rumors of womanizing” despite the fact that such claims were proven true. 

MSNBC contributor Mike Barnicle insisted this afternoon that Marco Rubio suffered "more than a Muskie moment" on Saturday with his repetitious exchange with Gov. Chris Christie because the moment "went viral on YouTube."

The premier of former Daily Show correspondent Samantha Bee’s TBS program Full Frontal arrived on Monday night and for liberals seeking more anti-conservative rants disguised as humor, Bee provided just that as she berated Iowa caucus winner Ted Cruz as a “fish-faced, horseshit salesman” while playing with a noose.

In the latest example of double standards, NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt used his one-on-one interview on Monday with Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio to boast of the “broad criticism of that Saturday debate performance” and calls that he’s “MarcoRobot” despite expressing concern to Hillary Clinton on January 29 about any critiques leveled her way.

MSNBC's Chris Matthews is enjoying beating the dead horse that is Marco Rubio's repetitive answers on Saturday night's debate. But in doing so, Matthews himself is continually trotting out the same talking points about "short-term memory loss" and sounding like a character from the 1982 movie Blade Runner.

While all three network morning shows touted Hillary Clinton’s campaign attacking Bernie Sanders supporters for “sexism,” only NBC’s Today mentioned prominent Clinton surrogate and “feminist icon” Gloria Steinem employing sexist language to attack young women supporting Sanders.

Washington Post political reporter/pundit Chris Cillizza resolutely (and unpersuasively) denied last April that the media had a pro-Hillary bias. But he certainly exemplified it in his “Monday Fix” column in the newspaper. The topic was Hillary refusing to release transcripts of her six-figure speeches. All three network morning shows on Friday celebrated Hillary Clinton’s Thursday night debate performance as if she was a champion prize fighter. On NBC’s Today, co-host Savannah Guthrie proclaimed: “Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders faced off in their most contentious debate yet.
