Former Clinton official and CNN senior political analyst David Gergen received the first nod during the AC360 Post Debate Special to comment on Thursday’s PBS NewHour Democratic Debate and exalted how he couldn’t recall a presidential candidate “who was more experienced and more competent than Hillary Clinton was tonight.”

After having started off with a number of surprisingly solid questions in Thursday’s PBS NewsHour Democratic Debate, co-moderator Gwen Ifill wondered to socialist Senator Bernie Sanders if he’s concerned that he “will be the instrument of thwarting history” if he defeats Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primary as part of her second campaign to be the first female president.

In the Thursday evening newscasts ahead of the PBS Democratic Presidential Debate, the “big three” networks of ABC, CBS, and NBC largely focused on spinning the Congressional Black Caucus PAC’s endorsement of Hillary Clinton as “a major endorsement” and sign of “new momentum” following socialist Senator Bernie Sanders winning New Hampshire. 

Last October, after about six months of dawdling, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio finally came out with an endorsement of Hillary Clinton for president. Yet on tonight's Hardball, anchor Chris Matthews made it sound like the mayor probably wishes he had his old campaign-manager job back and was Hillary's "Mickey in the corner" at every debate.

Both CBS This Morning and NBC’s Today on Thursday devoted lengthy segments to fretting over Hillary Clinton’s failure to gain support among young female voters. Hosts on the two network morning shows wrung their hands while discussing how Clinton was “trounced” in New Hampshire by Bernie Sanders due to her “surprising struggle” to win over women.

In perhaps his most vile attack on Texas Senator Ted Cruz to date, MSNBC host Chris Matthews appeared on Wednesday’s Morning Joe and declared the Republican presidential candidate to not be human: “...there’s a troll-like quality to Cruz. He operates below the level of human life.”

Time columnist Joe Klein followed up his fawning profile of Hillary Clinton in the magazine’s latest issue with an appearance on Charlie Rose’s PBS show Tuesday night where he condemned Donald Trump supporters as “a real threat to this country,” decried the lack of center in American politics and professed his admiration for Jeb Bush.

While touting the usage of cell phones in 21st century journalism on the Tuesday edition Fusion’s America, host and liberal Univision anchor Jorge Ramos played clips of his cell phone video reports from New Hampshire that included numerous encounters trolling Trump supporters who were merely standing outside polling places to support the billionaire.

The “big three” networks of ABC, CBS, and NBC offered periodic updates on Tuesday night concerning the New Hampshire primary results and hailed them in the 10:00 p.m. Eastern hour as symbolizing “an earth-shaking night in politics” with socialist Senator Bernie Sanders notching a win in his ongoing “crusade” with some “brutal coverage” ahead for Hillary Clinton.
