The story, from Saturday to Monday, has amounted to a scant 35 seconds on the ABC morning and evening newscasts, 20 seconds for NBC and a meager12 seconds on CBS.

CBS This Morning Saturday embraced the idea that, of course, journalism is activism and we should all just get used to it. Co-host Michelle Miller on July 17 cheered Nikole Hannah Jones, the author of the historically corrupt 1619 Project as the modern day Ida B. Wells, a woman who heroically battled the KKK as she exposed the horrors of lynching. 

Every so often the media has brief moments of honesty worth noting. On Sunday’s Inside Politics on CNN, the liberal panel of journalists worried about the far-left’s control on the Democrat party “damaging” the Biden administration, with one panelist even noting that many Democrats supported Cuba’s socialist regime. 

The popular uprising against Cuba’s totalitarian communist dictatorship has been a source of bad media takes and dopey whataboutism, but Telemundo’s morning anchor raced to the top of the fetid pile with his use of the SOS Cuba protests as an instrument with which to bash Republicans over Texas’ election security legislation.

On his Thursday night show, CNN host Chris Cuomo attacked Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) as a "misinformation spreader" that's "fearmongering about the border....I just don't see any other way to say it other than the Party of Trump is banking on BS. Republican leadership doesn't care about the threat of toxic talk." But it's Cuomo's argument that flounders on the facts.

This isn’t rocket science —  unless you are in the liberal news media. Two polls in a row, one from Reuters and one from Gallup, are confirming that millions of Americans (and others!) have little to zero trust in the mainstream American news media. Fox News explains: "Only 16 percent of respondents said they had a lot of confidence in television news." 

During a Friday segment of Cuomo Prime Time on vaccine hesitancy and disinformation, namesake host Chris Cuomo spread some disinformation of his own by insinuating Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is encouraging people not to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

On Thursday's MTP Daily on MSNBC, fill-in host Kasie Hunt gave an unchallenged forum to Oregon's Democratic governor, Kate Brown, to blame global warming for recent weather disasters in her state and to push for a reduction in the burning of fossil fuels to allegedly curtail such events in the future.

MSNBC, the network that turned vicious, hateful attacks against conservatives, independents and Americans in general into a depressingly regular occurrence, turned 25 this week.  And while the venom spewed from the cable network may not shock anymore, we thought MSNBC’s birthday was a good time to recall the five of the worst examples.
