I am uniquely blessed to be Rush Limbaugh's brother in ways too numerous to count, and I am blessed to be in the special position of witnessing firsthand the outpouring of love and prayers from his, family, friends and fans. His wife, Kathryn, has been amazing and a rock throughout. I could fill a book with the well-wishes I've received. I sent Rush a link to my “mentions” column on Twitter so he could scroll through it and see for himself what he means to so many people.
One of the most revealing things about the leftist mindset is the usual leftist's lack of self-awareness about his own intolerance, hatefulness and inclusiveness — unless you distort all those terms to whitewash the reality. I will never forget reading (and writing about) the unfortunate experience of Professor Janice Price, an education instructor at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana.
On the most recent edition of Life, Liberty & Levin, host Mark Levin sat down with David Limbaugh, author of the new book Guilty by Reason of Insanity: Why the Democrats Must Not Win. Part of their conversation focused on media bias, with Limbaugh affirming that the media are “completely tied to the Democrats and their agenda” and Levin highlighting the media’s double standards when it comes to protecting freedom of the press.
The left is becoming more unapologetically totalitarian every day. Every freedom-loving American should be alarmed. From hounding conservatives out of restaurants to spitting on Trump supporters at rallies, from firing employees for politically incorrect statements to fining people for “misgendering” a person, the left is on a path toward absolutism.
A bizarre incident at Union Theological Seminary illustrates why many Christians believe that internal forces, not external ones, represent the greatest threat to the church. Students at this seminary prayed to a collection of plants in its chapel, which triggered a raft of criticism on Twitter. The school defiantly defended its action in a series of tweets. “Today in chapel, we confessed to plants,” the school tweeted.
With his latest blockbuster, Unfreedom of the Press, Mark Levin presents a unique indictment of the liberal media today — something I doubted could be done, given the plethora of material already written on this subject. It is sweepingly comprehensive, covering the history of the American press from before the nation's founding through modern times, yet accessibly succinct — 226 pages, excluding the acknowledgments and notes.
If you think the left hasn't taken over university life in America, you are probably not paying close enough attention or in denial. I'm not just talking about the liberalism of the professors and the core curriculum but about all of college life. There are glaring examples of leftist extremism everywhere you turn, and they're so loony that even sane liberal parents should be concerned.
There's no question that animosity exists on both sides of the political spectrum, but have you noticed how personal it has become for many on the left? It is disturbing how intolerant and filled with rage leftist extremists have become, and how many more people are falling into the category of leftist extremism. But what concerns me as much as this pattern of ill will and abuse from leftists is that it is unchecked by their peers and often applauded.
What kind of Twilight Zone are we living in when Democrats pretend that the mainstream media are objective journalists and Fox News is an arm of the Trump administration? People are always talking about media bias, so why am I bringing this up now? Well, because of two news alerts that popped up on my phone. First, I read that the Democratic National Committee is refusing to partner with Fox News for the 2020 primary debates.
Liberal ideology is rife with inconsistencies, but none is greater than how its supposedly animating motivation -- human compassion — is contradicted by its devaluation of human life. Liberals have long claimed superior compassion and demonized conservatives as being uncaring. This has always been untrue while superficially appearing to be true, and liberals have evangelized countless young minds with this seductive canard.
I don't know which is worse, the intolerant left's condemnation of former Vice President Joe Biden for saying Vice President Mike Pence is a “decent guy,” or Biden's shameless groveling and apology. Biden committed his unforgivable infraction during a speech in Omaha, in which he casually alluded to Pence's speech at the Munich Security Conference in early February.
The View’s Joy Behar did a masterful job of revealing her political ignorance when she grilled co-host Meghan McCain on why Republicans still support President Donald Trump, given his “treasonous behavior.” Behar was referring to Trump's friendly relationship with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and his taking Kim at his word when Kim denied any responsibility for the imprisonment and torture of University of Virginia student Otto Warmbier, who died in 2017.
