Congressional reporter Carl Hulse enjoyed piling on Republican Senate leader Mitch McConnell just a bit too much in Wednesday’s lead New York Times slot: “Pressure Mounts On Senate Leader To Secure Ballot – Some in G.O.P. Softening – McConnell Impedes Bills, and Seethes Over Tag of ‘Moscow Mitch.’” It’s Hulse’s favorite kind of story: Democrats gleefully putting Republicans under pressure, with Hulse cheering them on. Hulse tends to condone whatever political tactics the Democrats use against Republicans, however disreputable they might be: "Democrats pressed their advantage. And why not? The hashtag #MoscowMitchMcTraitor was trending on Twitter, and Senate Republicans of all stripes were being asked about the blockade."

Wednesday evening was not a good time for MSNBC analyst Howard Fineman, who posted a tweet containing a picture of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer attending a party hosted by longtime New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd. However, the newsman soon had to remove his tweet since it embarrassingly showed both liberal leaders being forced to stand outside the building because the event drew a very large crowd, a development described as “genuinely hilarious” by the managing editor of a news website.

Remember, folks, CNN wants you to think that CNN Tonight’s Don Lemon is merely a “CNN anchor” and an objective journalist instead of a left-wing pundit. Keep that in mind as, while opening Wednesday’s show, he gloated about how the President’s suffering a “losing streak” to the point that he put on an “embarrassing” performance in the Rose Garden.

Reacting to yesterday's short-lived meeting with Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer, the Morning Joe panel hurls a string of insults at President Trump: "stinks, complete idiot, pathetic."

As Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer appeared as a guest Wednesday morning to give the Democratic point of view on President Donald Trump's State of the Union speech,CBS This Morning co-host Norah O'Donnell essentially repeated the Democratic argument dismissing the severity of illegal border crossings as she invited him to respond as opposed to balancing out the discussion by pressing her guest from the right on illegal immigration.

On Wednesday's CNN Right Now, host Brianna Keilar and New York Republican Congressman Scott Reed got into a heated debate over the government shutdown and border security as the CNN host also questionably claimed that concerns about illegal immigrants crimes have been "gutted," citing groups with liberal views on immigration.

Tuesday, ABC’s congressional correspondent Mary Bruce didn’t even try to hide her disdain for Republicans and President Trump, while covering the government shutdown. On Good Morning America, Bruce mocked Trump’s proposal to re-open the government and touted Democrats as the victims in this "power play."

Leading off Wednesday’s Hardball, MSNBC host Chris Matthews gloated about the supposed failure of President Trump’s Tuesday night address on illegal immigration and the shutdown, dubbing him a “primetime loser” who’s “a spoiled child” and lost out in the ratings to the much-maligned and parodied Democratic response by Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer.

It’s so rare that a member of the media actually confronts Democrats on anything, that it's worth noting when they do. That happened on Thursday's Morning Joe on MSNBC, when anchor Willie Geist asked Democrat guest how his party could call something “immoral” that they voted for back in 2006.

The rather stiff response by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer quickly inspired several funny memes on the web. One such meme noted that the stilted response by the pair resembled a hostage tape. However, the one meme that seems to have caught on in a big way was that they appeared like the father and daughter in Grant Wood's famous 1930 painting, "American Gothic."

On Tuesday’s 11th Hour, host Brian Williams tag-teamed with guests James Carville and Michael Steele to trash President Trump’s primetime address, but even this — um — special trio couldn’t escape two segments talking about the night’s events without absolutely lampooning the much-maligned and parodied Democratic response by Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer.

Seeing as how he had been the bane of the liberal media’s existence for the last 24 hours plus as he’s supposedly the real president, conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh was in an ebullient mood for his Friday show. He said that he was supposedly “the new villain in Washington D.C.” ahead of a possible government shutdown that was portrayed as if the world was “end[ing] even before climate change kills us all.”
