Appearing on Tuesday’s NBC Today to promote her new documentary series on Netflix, left-wing comedian and talk show host Chelsea Handler highlighted the topic of one episode: “...you think you know about racism and then you delve into it and you kind of realize how little you do know and then how embarrassed you are about how little you know. And how embarrassing people in this country are when you talk to them.”
Looks like Handler needed a laugh track for this one.
On Monday, Host Chelsea Handler featured an Adolf Hitler parody in reaction to Germany’s World Cup win during E! Channel’s “Chelsea Lately” show. To set up the show, Handler’s sidekick Chuy Bravo dressed as the Nazi dictator because “Germany won the World Cup.” Comedian Ian Karmel, amidst other panelists, joked, “I’m a Jew, but I’m still glad Germany won. It’s nice for them to have something gold that they didn’t pry out of my grandfather’s mouth.” Continues after video.
Controversial comedian Chelsea Handler stopped by CNN’s Piers Morgan Live last night and had some harsh words for the outgoing CNN host.
Appearing as his guest on Monday March 11, Handler slammed the provocative Morgan’s interviewing skills and claimed that “I have to come here and tolerate this nonsense and then I have to ...You can't even pay attention for 60 seconds. You're a terrible interviewer.” [See video below.]
Lindsay Lohan’s out of rehab, and she welcomed herself back to America by substitute-hosting E! network’s Chelsea Lately Monday.
During her opening monologue, Lohan thanked Justin Bieber, Kanye West, Anthony Weiner, and the Royal Baby for keeping the tabloids busy in her absence.
Jennifer Aniston had some harsh words for Katie Couric Wednesday.
Appearing on the E! network’s Chelsea Lately, Aniston marvelously asked, “What’s Katie Couric? Is she like a legitimate journalist?” (video follows with transcribed highlights and commentary):
Despite Chelsea Handler's reputation as a vulgar host of a late night talk show on the E! network, you'd think she'd have the decency of toning it down when one of her guests is a child.
Apparently not, for on Monday's Chelsea Lately, the host actually said to 9-year-old Oscar nominee Quvenzhané Wallis, "I’ve been trying to get your little nugget a** on this show and you've been booked solid" (video follows with commentary):
CNN's Piers Morgan had a rather vulgar exchange with E! Entertainment's Chelsea Handler Wednesday night.
After the host of Chelsea Lately told her guest, "You can suck my a--," he responded, "That was exactly what I was going to suggest" (video follows with transcript and commentary):
Glee star Jane Lynch dressed as Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney for Halloween.
In a pre-recorded Chelsea Lately aired Thursday, Lynch also said her wife was going as Paul Ryan (video follows with transcribed highlights and commentary, file photo):
Appearing on the Conan O'Brien show on Wednesday night, talk show host Chelsea Handler started laughing at the most inopportune time. Judging by the somber look on O'Brien's face, the comedienne hadn't just cracked a joke. No, the unfortunate reason for her giggling was in remembrance of a child who was deprived the chance to live.
Asked to recollect her adolescence, Handler couldn't resist oversharing. Her rebellious lifestyle resulted in an unplanned pregnancy as a teenager, but apparently there was nothing to think twice about. That's when the laughing started. She tried to stop herself, admitting the subject wasn't funny. Yet she continued, trying to justify the humor of her abortion by saying her baby would've been biracial. Boy, that Chelsea Handler sure is a classy gal.
On NBC's Tonight Show Wednesday, the host of Chelsea Lately said that her dating quarterback Tim Tebow "would be like a rape – a reverse rape" (video follows with transcript and commentary):
As Meghan McCain appeared as a guest on Tuesday's Chelsea Lately show on E!, host Chelsea Handler defended President Obama's economic record and ended up praising McCain for admitting that she sometimes smokes marijuana.
Early on in the interview, Handler declared, "I like you, too. I mean, I like, I don't hate all Republicans, I just, most of them. But I like you because you're, like, you're pro-marijuana legalization, you're pro-gay, kind of?"
From the network that brought you the failed show, "The Playboy Club," NBC is now offering more trashy television with the new primetime comedy, "Are You There, Chelsea?" based on the book by comedienne and host of "Chelsea Lately," Chelsea Handler. The sitcom, which premiered January 11, centers on the life of Chelsea Handler, a bartender who prays to Vodka, drinks heavily without regret and has a provocative and public sex life.
The previews promoting the season premiere show viewers that "Chelsea" will take them on an alcohol-infused adventure in which anything goes. One preview begins with Chelsea (Laura Prepon) getting pulled over for drunk driving, blowing into a breathalyzer and then thrown in jail. Judging by the accompanying laugh track, viewers are supposed to find the potentially fatal, law-breaking behavior funny.
