Subject: Re: CWA Wishes Miss Miers All the Best
Ever the polite ladies, Concerned Women for America wish Miers "all the best". Yesterday they slammed her as someone who promotes a radical feminist agenda and called upon her to withdraw.
On Wednesday, CWA did issue a statement taking exception to Miers speeches, a statement that was followed by Wright being interviewed on Good Morning America. (See the Rich Noyes blog here.) It did complain: "Two speeches in 1993 by Harriet Miers, while president of the Texas Bar Association, indicate a radical feminist worldview, a penchant for judicial activism, race and sex quotas, a liberal characterization of the abortion debate and government spending, and an inability to articulate her positions clearly." They did decide to ask for Miers to withdraw. But it's not that surprising that someone who had withdrawn from a Supreme Court nomination to go back to the President's side would be praised for that decision, and praised since she is still in an influential position.
