Unhinged: Mika Has Complete Meltdown on ‘ICE Bros’ After Homan Presser

February 13th, 2026 11:00 PM

After Thursday's press conference by Border Czar Tom Homan in Minneapolis, Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski went on a spiraling tirade against Homan’s ICE “bros” and “untrained idiots” in a seeming mental breakdown in the 9 a.m. hour of the show.

In the first part of her rant, Mika went after Homan and did not appreciate his "education on public safety” after “ICE left a trail of death and destruction in Minneapolis.”

She then repeated her claims that ICE was not going after ‘the worst of the worst’ and insinuated ICE were cowardly by going to prisons for criminal illegals:

Yeah, they didn't go after the worst of the worst. They say they are now. And, in a condescending way, say that Minnesota's finally working with them to go into the prisons. No, you are cowering away with your tail between your legs and going toward the prisons.”

Her tirade continued on with attacks against Homan and his ‘ICE bros’:

People don't like that! People don't like seeing people murdered in the streets and then blamed for being murdered, Tom Homan!

No, don't condescend and lecture the state of Minnesota after what your ICE dudes, your ICE bros - idiots, untrained idiots who literally don't know how to handle weapons! Who walk in front of cars like boneheads and SHOOT PEOPLE!”

Additionally, Brzezinski lumped in U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi’s committee testimony on Wednesday to her rant and questioned how administration members were raised as children, before deciding to end her little rampage:

(...) Literally, who raised these people? Who raised these people, because Americans, they don't like what they see.

But wait, there’s more. About 10 minutes later, after reading a story on a completely different subject, Mika could not resist bringing up ICE.

This time, she lumped in critical responses to Bad Bunny’s Halftime Show performance , which she called “incredibly intense racist meltdowns,” to ICE and Minneapolis unrest. Repeatedly saying “Bad Bunny” with emphasis on “Bunny” as if to suggest they were upset at a rabbit:

But on this ICE stuff. And then I don't even know the stupidity there. I've been watching these, like incredibly intense racist meltdowns on the right over Bad Bunny. I mean, these people are like losing it over the airwaves, over Bad Bunny. They're upset by Bad Bunny. Okay? They didn't get the music.

At the same time, having conversations on their platforms about ICE and about these deportations and perhaps avoiding and ignoring what's going on in the detention facilities because people can't get in there to know. So we only get some reports of the hell that is happening in there

And it's just, to me, showing and then adding that maybe Alex Pretti deserved to die for protesting ice or Renee Good as well. I mean, literally saying it was his own doing these same people. Like the logic is nonsensical, also defies what exactly happened. But this week I feel like we've passed through something where for these people especially, the mask is off and their racism, it's not just sort of showing, it's full on out there, full on.

You might expect Morning Joe to be happy with the news of an ICE pullback from Minnesota, Instead Mika took the time after the press conference to show her disdain for Homan and ICE in an outright screaming rampage.

It might be for the best if Mika would calm down for a couple days a week to maintain her mental wellbeing.

The meltdown was so unhinged that the transcript alone might not do it justice.

MIKA BRZEZINSKI: All right. So some might say it's safer because ICE is leaving, at least the surge. That is Tom Homan, the border czar, giving the public an education on public safety.

Kind of interesting, after ICE left a trail of death and destruction in Minneapolis. Two dead shot at point blank range by ICE, by ICE. And the investigations of those two murders, no word on whether the state will be giving back evidence that the feds took away after many administration officials immediately defamed both victims, calling them domestic terrorists, using words like assassin. Saying things that simply didn't happen.

So the public is safer in Minneapolis if ICE gets out, given what has happened there because of ICE. Chaos, fear, people being unlawfully detained, people being ripped away from their families. And no, they're not the worst of the worst. And some of them are merely undocumented, but also working and giving back, serving this country.

Yeah, they didn't go after the worst of the worst. They say they are now. And, in a condescending way, say that Minnesota's finally working with them to go into the prisons. No, you are cowering away with your tail between your legs and going toward the prisons. Now to try and figure out how to deal with these polls. As new NBC News polls find, a majority of Americans have negative views of nearly every aspect of President Trump's aggressive immigration and deportation tactics!

What they did in Minneapolis, including killing people at point blank range, shooting them in the head or in the back nine times, and then accusing them moments later of deserving it!

Who walk in front of cars like boneheads and SHOOT PEOPLE!

And according to the polling, 60 percent of Americans disapprove of President Trump's handling of border security and immigration. This was an issue he ran on, Tom Homan, and then you ran it into the ground. It's down seven points since August of last year. 66 percent say they disapprove of the way ICE is handling its job, versus 34 percent who approve. And six in 10 Americans say they don't trust that there will be fair and transparent investigations into the shooting deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti.

See, people believe their eyes. Jonathan Lemire, they believe what they saw versus what Kristi Noem said versus what Stephen Miller said. And Tom Homan, all of you guys in the administration who still somehow have your jobs, you cannot tell the president what he doesn't want to hear, which leaves your numbers in the gutter. Sort of where Pam Bondi accused lawmakers of going yesterday when they presented her with the victims of sexual abuse, she considered those people like being in the gutter.

Literally, who raised these people? Who raised these people, because Americans, they don't like what they see. So, you can scurry away from Minnesota and blame Minnesota for the public safety issue.

But what ICE brought to Minnesota, and Minneapolis specifically, was a living hell for the community. Thank you very much. Jonathan Lemire, you better take this away from me. I'll be done now.

BRZEZINSKI: And I just - I know we're going to get to this next story, Jonathan Lemire, which is really troubling. But on this ICE stuff. And then I don't even know the stupidity there. I've been watching these, like incredibly intense racist meltdowns on the right over Bad Bunny. I mean, these people are like losing it over the airwaves, over Bad Bunny. They're upset by Bad Bunny.
