Gaga, Other Celebs vs. Texas Over LGBT Bathrooms

February 15th, 2017 10:38 AM

Unfortunately, Lady Gaga wasn’t signaling that she’d sworn off politics when she just shut up and sang in last week's Super Bowl performance. She’s now messing with Texas over Texas refusing to mess with biology. She, Jennifer Lawrence and some 140 other lefty performers, signed an open letter against proposed legislation making it illegal for any government within the state to mandate public bathroom arrangements based on sex.

According to Huffington Post’s “Queer Voices” (their name, not mine), the letter asks “Can you imagine the message these bills send to children?” Yes, they simply reinforce what they learned in biology class. If you have lady parts, use the ladies’ room.

It goes on to say “Transgender and gender non-conforming young people also already face higher rates of family rejection and homelessness, mental health issues and suicidality …” Agreed that mental health is definitely an issue with this, but it’s a bit much to predict that asking a biological boy to stand when he pees is going to lead to suicidality (if that’s a word).

The letter is sponsored by the gay agenda’s usual suspects, and Queer Voices is hoping they can bully Texas into folding the way North Carolina did on similar bills last year. The NFL, which used to be a football league, is already making noise about not granting the state any more Super Bowls. But we’ll see. Texans don’t much like being messed with.
