While ABC and NBC on Wednesday continued their silence on the bribery trial of Democratic Senator Bob Menendez, CBS This Morning allowed a scant 22 seconds. This was the first time all year CBS even mentioned the scandal swirling around the New Jersey politician. ABC and NBC haven’t touched the impending trial all year. 

After helping sell President Obama’s unilateral executive overreach on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) in 2012 and 2014, on Wednesday morning, the broadcast networks eagerly promoted the former president blasting the Trump administration’s “cruel” plan to end the policy.

On Tuesday, hours before the Trump administration announced a gradual end to the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) immigration executive order implemented by President Obama, the network morning shows feared the “immigration battle” to come while promoting the “blue-state backlash” as left-wing activists took to the streets in protest.

Conclusion first, facts second. That, allegedly, was the mentality of ex-FBI Director James Comey in dealing with Hillary Clinton’s e-mail scandal. Yet this revelation was ignored by ABC, CBS and NBC on Thursday and Friday. Comey, who was fired by Donald Trump in May, decided in 2016 against criminal charges of Hillary Clinton before 17 interviews of witnesses were complete.

On Monday, NBC’s Today put coverage of Hurricane Harvey’s devastation in Texas on hold to allow correspondent Peter Alexander time to devote a full report to bashing President Trump’s controversial decision to pardon former Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Amid news of actual storm damage, Alexander hyped the supposed “political storm” swirling around the White House.

Here’s another entry for the “Just When You Think You’ve Seen It All Department:” Former tennis professional and ESPN broadcaster Doug Adler has filed a lawsuit against the company because he was fired due to confusion regarding his use of the word “guerrilla” while describing an aggressive play by an African-American tennis champion.

While ABC and NBC only produced a news brief about a protest in favor of Colin Kaepernick, CBS This Morning on Thursday devoted an entire segment to “taking a stand” for the football player, even hyping comparisons of him to Rosa Parks and Muhammad Ali. Reporter Dana Jacobson spun the rally in New York, cheering, “Social justice advocates rallied to show their support for Colin Kaepernick.” 

Reacting with horror to President Trump’s Tuesday night rally in Phoenix, on Wednesday’s NBC Today, correspondent Kristen Welker proclaimed: “President Trump is waking up here in Arizona after unleashing a 77-minute fiery and divisive speech here overnight. It was taking aim at his detractors and it was a major reversal after calling on the country to come together just one day earlier.”  

In an exclusive interview with Vice President Mike Pence on Tuesday’s NBC Today, co-host Matt Lauer noted that President Trump was “getting applause from a lot of people” for his address to the nation on Afghanistan, but then focused entirely on criticism of the newly announced war strategy.    

After Wednesday’s NBC Nightly News devoted an entire report to elevating the racist views of a white nationalist, on Thursday’s Today, correspondent Gabe Gutierrez claimed the network wanted to avoid promoting such offensive extremists: “Experts who track these groups say that they feel emboldened and are not going away. Despite President Trump condemning white supremacist hate groups by name on Monday for the violence in Charlottesville, on Tuesday, the network morning shows lined up to blame the President for the rise of such groups and having “emboldened” them with his 2016 campaign.

After all three broadcast networks spent Sunday blaming President Trump for the deadly violence in Charlottesville, Virginia over the weekend, in an exclusive interview with NBC News aired on Monday’s Today show, Vice President Mike Pence took the liberal media to task for its biased coverage.

Saturday was marked by bloodshed in Charlottesville, Virginia after an apparent white nationalist plowed into a crowd of counter-protesters in a blatant attack.
