During the 10 a.m. ET hour on Wednesday, correspondent Chris Jansing openly cheered on Democratic California Senator Diane Feinstein for attacking Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch early in day three of his confirmation hearing: “Dianne Feinstein certainly went after him on a number of issues that are critical to progressives. Abortion, euthanasia at the top of the list.”

On Tuesday, the crazy train on MSNBC’s Hardball was firing on all cylinders. Host Chris Matthews was in rare form as he compared President Trump to O.J. Simpson and suggested that journalists (especially newspapers) should be automatically believed because, supposedly, no other group of humanity tells the truth better than journalists.

Loony MSNBC host Chris Matthews concluded Tuesday night’s Hardball with a loud berating of Senate Republicans and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell for not confirming Obama Supreme Court pick Merrick Garland, engaging in “low-level politics” harming the country.

After expressing his disappointment earlier in the day that Democrats had been unable to “lay a glove” on Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch during Tuesday’s Senate confirmation hearing, during MSNBC’s 3 p.m. ET hour, anchor Brian Williams tried to assuage his fellow liberals by speculating that the conservative judge might shift left while on the high court.

In the 12 p.m. ET hour on Tuesday, following the first few hours of Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch being questioned by the Senate Judiciary Committee, MSNBC anchor Brian Williams admitted: “I think, the expression in English is ‘It's tough to lay a glove on this guy.’”  

Nina Totenberg is very confused. The hard-left NPR journalist on Tuesday admitted that Judge Neil Gorsuch is “respected,” yet he’s also somehow “very conservative.” Appearing on MSNBC, Brian Williams asked Totenberg to project the Supreme Court nominee’s ideology. At first, she hedged, saying, “I actually don’t know.” 

On Monday, the liberal broadcast networks and cable outlets tag-teamed to ignore live opening day coverage of Judge Neil Gorsuch’s Senate Judiciary Committee hearing to become the next Justice to the U.S. Supreme Court, instead spending over 11 hours of coverage on the FBI Director James Comey, addressing allegations of Russian collusion with the Trump campaign.

During 9 a.m. ET hour MSNBC coverage ahead of the House Intelligence Committee hearing on Russian interference in the 2016 election on Monday, anchor Brian Williams wondered if the issue may bring down the Trump administration: “Could this dissolve everything? Could this be an existential threat to this administration, the process that begins today?”

Monday on Morning Joe, the topic of discussion was Maureen Dowd’s column in the New York Times concerning Trump’s presidency. Co-host Mika Brzezinski, prompting a discussion, introduced and read the column aloud.
