Syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer said Tuesday that America is "headed the way of Cyprus." Such was said on Fox News's Special Report near the end of a discussion about the state of California retroactively collecting taxes and interest after a court struck down a pro-business initiative established years ago.

"If ever the mainstream media reaches a point where they recognize that if we destroy this nation and destroy the economy, they, too, will be destroyed, I think at that point they will start asking the tough questions and helping to move the population in the right direction." So predicted Dr. Benjamin Carson on Fox News's Hannity Monday (video follows with transcript and commentary):

"If you look at President Obama, it seems like he doesn't want to recognize any limits on government power. I think we need to stand for limits on government power and for individual liberty." So said Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tx.) on Fox News's Hannity Monday.

Fox News's Brit Hume had a marvelous observation on Monday's Special Report concerning Barack Obama's recent charm offensive. "It was a remarkably sudden conversion by the President from an attitude of, you know, 'Up yours, I don’t need you' to 'I want to get together and talk with all of you.'”

Liberals love to make the case that MSNBC is the left-wing version of Fox News. Not according to a new Pew Research Center study that found MSNBC to be by far the most opinionated cable news channel in America:

Syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer on Tuesday made a remark about the current White House resident that goes quite counter to the media's gushing and fawn over Barack Obama. Appearing on Fox News's Special Report, Krauthammer said, "He’s one of the great campaigners in American history, but at governing he’s not that good."

Dr. Benjamin Carson made some more controversial statements Saturday. UPDATE AT END OF POST: Hannity and Bolling issue comment. The Obama administration announced Tuesday that it's canceling public tours of the White House beginning this weekend due to budget sequestration. On Thursday, Fox News hosts Eric Bolling and Sean Hannity each offered to pay for one week's worth of tours to keep the White House open to the public.

President Obama actually had the nerve this week to close down the White House to tours as part of budget sequestration.
