Chuck Todd: If Kansas Gov. Loses It's ‘Because He Cut Taxes Too Much'

Congressman Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) sat down with Meet the Press moderator Chuck Todd on Sunday, September 14, to promote his new book “The Way Forward” and was met with a barrage of questions challenging his conservative principles. Ryan appeared on Meet the Press’ Press Pass and was asked by Todd to comment on Governor Sam Brownback’s (R-Kan.) 2014 reelection bid. During the interview, the NBC…

Scarborough Snippy With Reporter Calling Out NBC's NFL Hypocrisy

Ever since the Ray Rice elevator video went public, Morning Joe has been in a state of sustained moral outrage over the NFL's mishandling of the issue of domestic violence.  All well and good.  But things turned testy this morning when a New York Times reporter turned the tables on Joe and Mika. Allen Schwarz asked if they should march into the office of the NBC Chairman and demand that the…

ABC Skips, WashPost Downplays Majority Defines Obama a 'Failure'

When a Washington Post-ABC News poll ends up finding the "Best News for Republicans," the Post tries to find other findings to highlight in their headlines. "Majority of Americans find Obama presidency a failure" wasn't going to be bolded on the front page. They went with "Support widens for air strikes" instead. ABC News, their polling partner, never found it.

Fox News ‘Would Have Loved’ to Show FDR at ‘His Most Helpless’

The potshot of the weekend illustrates the visceral disgust in academia toward the Fox News Channel. If Franklin Roosevelt were a candidate or President today, FNC “would have loved” to show video of him “at his most helpless” – such as when he was carried or forced to have others attach and remove his leg braces.

ABC’s Karl: ‘Is Hillary Clinton…Too Hawkish’ For Democrats In 2016?'

In a similar theme to NBC’s Meet the Press, ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos used Hillary Clinton’s visit to Iowa as an opportunity to play up liberal dissatisfaction with the potential 2016 presidential candidate.  ABC’s Jonathan Karl traveled to Indianola, Iowa to speak with retiring Democratic Senator Tom Harkin ahead of his annual Harkin Steak Fry event. During the interview, Karl…

Hillary Clinton traveled to Iowa on Sunday for the annual Tom Harkin Steak Fry and NBC’s Andrea Mitchell traveled with her as the former Secretary of State continues her unofficial campaign for the 2016 Democratic nomination for president. During an appearance on Sunday’s Meet the Press, moderator Chuck Todd introduced Mitchell by playing up how despite Hillary having “the best resume” it “may…

WashPost Reporter: Obama ‘Starting To Be A Drag…In Terms of Women’

In the wake of Hillary Clinton’s visit to the early primary state of Iowa, the folks at CNN had some surprisingly harsh words for Democrats running for reelection in 2014. During an appearance on Sunday’s Inside Politics, Washington Post reporter Nia Malika Henderson conceded that Democrats have no desire to campaign with the president and instead “want him out behind closed doors.” Henderson…

WashPost News Judgment Throws Ed Gillespie In A Trunk, Sits On Top

The shamelessly partisan Washington Post wants to publicize nothing that helps Republican Ed Gillespie make up ground on Democratic Sen. Mark Warner. A story on 250,000 Virginians losing their insurance coverage because it doesn't meet Obamacare standards appeared on page B-4. So which Gillespie story has appeared on Page 1? It came on September 3: “Va. underdog Gillespie may have his eye on…

Politico Lead Story: 'Is It Time to Ditch the Star-Spangled Banner?'

There is apparently no more important story or issue right now at the Politico than Ted Widmer's question about our national anthem: "Is It Time to Ditch the Star-Spangled Banner?" It is currently the lead item at the web site, complete with a huge picture of the American flag. The "beheading by ISIL of a British aid worker" and Wisconsin's court-granted ability to implement voter-ID in the fall…

Charles Pierce: America May ‘Lose Its Mind’ Again Over Terrorism

Charles Pierce thinks the campaign against ISIS may cause a spike in the national “derangement” that started on 9/11, and Jonathan Chait sees neoconservatives making the same mistakes now as they did more than a decade ago: “The hysterical threat assessment, the simplistic conflation of mutually antagonistic strains of Islam, and the complete lack of concern for the possibility of overreach.”
