CNN Religion Editor: France's Treatment of Muslims Akin to Ferguson

On Wednesday's CNN Newsroon, CNN religion editor Daniel Burke likened French society's treatment of Muslims to the situation in Ferguson, Missouri around the time of the shooting of Michael Brown: "It's kind of like what we saw in Ferguson – that this was...in some way, the tinder that lit the spark – but the embers were already burning. There is a prevailing feeling in France, among many Muslims…

5 Reasons Libs Won’t Celebrate Religious Freedom Day Friday

Friday is National Religious Freedom Day, and what better time to consider where threats to American religious freedom originate. (Hint – it’s not with Bible-thumping Baptist preachers or dogmatic Catholic cardinals.) Progressives, who love to congratulate themselves on their tolerance and pluralism, are increasing intolerant when it comes to religion – or Christianity, anyway. Muslims seem to…

Lefty Blogger: Paul Ryan a ‘Zombie-Eyed Granny Starver’

Esquire’s Pierce deems Ryan “the single biggest fake in American public life” and declares that he “should have no more credibility on [fiscal] issues than does Sarah Palin, his predecessor in the second spot on the [Republican] ticket. Any Democratic congresscritter who seeks to make a deal with him should be drummed out of Washington. Any reporter or pundit who takes his plans for the economy…

Europe has been the target of numerous acts of Muslim terrorism, while its economies suffer and unemployment is rampant.  The United States is still recovering from 9-11 and has been the object of a number of terrorist attacks/attempts since then.  Yet in neither country is there a voice in mainstream television saying that right-wing parties might have a point when they advocate limits on…

Reporter Thinks He Flunked the 'Food Stamp Challenge'; No He Didn't

At the Lafayette, Indiana Courier Journal, reporter Mikel Livingston, that paper's social policiy reporter, set out to try to pass the Food Stamp Challenge. By Day 6, he claimed, "faced with the…

'I Just Had An Abortion' -- A Tale of 'Wellness and Empowerment'?

There’s been a lot of talk in the news about black on black crime – mainly gang related, but the biggest repeat offender that is hurting the black community isn’t gang related, and it’s not heart disease, AIDS, cancer, homicide or diabetes either. From Salon.com -- not The Onion. A new tirade by the perennially confused Edwin Lyngar addresses the alleged dirty tricks by conservatives, the Tea Party and Republicans in a flimsy piece, "The Angry Right's Secret Playbook" without citing even one example to support his rant.  Yet, he urges the Left to respond using dirty tricks, yelling and sleazy tactics, claiming they are, in fact, being far…
