Billboard Scoffs at Country Music's Traditional Values

Though we have come to expect countercultural themes in most mainstream genres like pop and rap, country music has seemed to hold out as long as possible, retaining traditional values in most content. This is certain to change if Billboard has its way.

Even Chris Hayes Mocks NYT Rubio Coverage: 'False Flags' by Campaign

In the wake of the New York Times running multiple stories on Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio, first on his accumulation of parking tickets and the second on his personal finances, MSNBC host Chris Hayes took to Twitter on Tuesday afternoon and seemingly mocked the paper for its coverage of the Florida senator.

Unlike Rubio, NY Times Skipped Over Obama's Tickets, Student Loans

There’s no doubt The New York Times is showing an aggression in covering Marco Rubio that they did not show for Obama eight years ago. After the alleged “scoop” of Rubio’s four parking tickets over 18 years last Friday (and in Saturday’s paper), the Times on Tuesday ran a big piece on how Rubio is supposedly a disaster when it comes to his own personal finances: “a series of decisions over the…

The hosts of Bloomberg’s With All Due Respect dove into the latest New York Times piece about 2016 Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio on Tuesday and came away with the conclusion that the story concerning Rubio’s personal finances is both “dangerous” and “totally legitimate.” Halperin declared “The New York Times has shoved Marco Rubio down deep into the barrel” and gushed to John…

Bozell & Graham Column: Politico's Clinton-Scandal Dismissals

Politico keeps posting ridiculous columns by both Democrats and Republicans who charge that the Clinton scandals are either (1) nonexistent  or (2) all politically harmless. It’s better to focus on the second kind, a Republican who thinks the Clintons are much smarter than idiotic conservatives who hold their scandals against them.

Obama Amnesty Failure Examined on Telemundo

In the wake of the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals’ ruling against a request from the Obama administration to move forward with his executive amnesty, MSNBC and Telemundo anchor José Díaz-Balart invited two activists from opposite ends of the ideological spectrum - LIBRE Executive Director Dan Garza and the Texas Organizing Project’s Alain Cisneros - to discuss the ruling and the topic of…

Lefty Writer: ‘Victimhood’ Key to Becoming a ‘Conservative Folk Hero’

How do you become a “conservative folk hero”? It helps a great deal if you believe, and your fellow right-wingers believe, that liberals are picking on you, contended The Daily Beast’s Ana Marie Cox in a Saturday column. Cox defined conservative folk heroes as celebrities or demi-celebrities “whose fame is not dependent on a celebrity-generating skill (acting, singing) but on a set of beliefs.”…

USA Today's Pom-Pom Page 1: 'Obama Vows to Bolster Iraqis'

While network correspondents like ABC’s Terry Moran singled out “an amazing admission from President Obama” that there is still no "complete strategy" to defeat or degrade ISIS, USA Today’s front page on Tuesday carried an upbeat headline in all caps: “OBAMA VOWS TO BOLSTER IRAQIS.”  The brief ten-paragraph front-pager by Kim Hjelmgaard and Jim Michaels never included a quote from Obama saying…

Does Matthews Know How Little Clinton Foundation Cash Goes to Charity?

During a panel discussion on Tuesday's Hardball, MSNBC's Chris Matthews picked a fight with his panel's lone Republican, who was highlighting the hypocrisy of Hillary Clinton's left-wing populist attacks on wealth given the track record of the Clinton Foundation. Matthews snarled that the Foundation was truly a charitable enterprise, although tax records show roughly just one-tenth of Foundation…

ABC, NBC Yawn at ISIS Gains in Libya; CBS Omits Mention of Obama Admin

On Tuesday night, the news that the ISIS had seized the Libyan city of Sirte received zero coverage on the evening newscasts of ABC and NBC while CBS devoted an entire segment to ISIS’s new gains, but neglected to mention or lay blame for the instability at the feet of Hillary Clinton and the Obama administration. While NBC offered no coverage on ISIS all together, ABC had a full report about the…

Fashion Cop Maddow Deems Walker's Motorcycle Headgear a 'Funny Get Up'

Looks like MSNBC's Rachel Maddow got the memo on comparing likely GOP presidential candidate Scott Walker to unfortunate previous Democrat nominee Michael Dukakis. The ever-dutiful Maddow promptly complied and did her part to perpetuate a meme that hasn't a prayer of surviving otherwise. As is surely seared in your memory forever, Dukakis made the ill-fated decision during the 1988 campaign to…
