New Yorker Writer: ‘Guns Don’t Protect Anyone From Anything’
Racial issues, not gun issues, understandably have been at the forefront of most media coverage of the Charleston massacre, but Adam Gopnik suggests that in any such mass shooting, the firearm is the salient factor.
“Mental health, the enduring structures of racism—these are issues that we have to deal with, too,” wrote Gopnik in a Tuesday column. “But they are not at the heart of the tragedy.…

Anti-Rubio Protesters Get Top Billing on Univision, MundoFox
If one thing can be counted on since Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) announced his presidential campaign, it’s that the nation’s top Spanish-language networks will give more coverage to the pro-amnesty protesters stalking the Senator’s campaign and interrupting his speeches than to the substance of what is happening and what Rubio is actually saying at those events.

WashPost Boosts Slam of Jindal: 'There's Not Much Indian Left'
On Tuesday, the Washington Post promoted an article touting how "many" supposedly view Bobby Jindal as "a man who has spent a lifetime distancing himself from his Indian roots" by Tweeting a professor's eyebrow-raising claim about the Louisiana governor: "There's not much Indian left in Bobby Jindal." In Wednesday's newspaper, that quote served as the big headline on page A-9.

Fox Guest: In The Crazy World of the NYT, 'Obama Is Doing Great'
Barack Obama’s seemingly constant attacks on Fox News were a hot topic of conversation on the June 22 edition of The Kelly File. Megyn Kelly invited former Bush speechwriter Marc Thiessen and Democratic strategist Robert Zimmerman to the program to discuss why the president complains about the cable network so frequently. Thiessen agreed with Obama’s statement in an interview with Marc Maron that…

MSNBC Welcome Mat: Staffers Chanted 'F--k Brian Williams'
Former NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams has been demoted down to breaking news anchor at MSNBC. However, on top of the humiliation of such a demotion, Williams shouldn't be too surprised to find a somewhat less than welcoming reception from the sanity challenged network of Big Ed and Reverend Al.
According to a New York Post report, the rank and file staffers at MSNBC absolutely hate Brian…

Did AP Photo Accidentally Point a Gun at Cruz’s Head?
When the Associated Press published some photos on Saturday that showed a large image of a gun pointed directly at Sen. Ted Cruz’s head was this outrageously provocative act accidental or deliberate?
The Associated Press says that its gun-pointed-directly-at-Cruz’s-head photos “were not intended to portray Sen. Cruz in a negative light.”

CNN: Should Flags With 'Strong Confederate References' 'Have to Go'?
CNN's Chris Cuomo zeroed in on five state flags that have supposed "strong Confederate references" on Monday's New Day. Cuomo cited unnamed experts on flags and symbols who claim that the state flags of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, and Tennessee – along with that of Mississippi and Georgia (which incorporate two different Confederate flags) have such "references." He later wondered, "Do all of…

WashPost Promotes Navy SEAL Running for 'Congresswoman'
The least likely congressional candidate to ever interest The Washington Post might be a Democrat thinking they can beat Steny Hoyer, the House minority whip from southern Maryland. This completely quixotic campaign can only be interesting if....the candidate’s a Navy SEAL who thinks he’s a woman.
On the front page of Style is a picture of Christopher “Kristin” Beck, hesitating in the shadows…

Stanford Prof: Fox News 'Accessory After the Fact' to Dylann Roof
In a Tuesday piece for Salon, Stanford comparative-literature professor David Palumbo-Liu alleged that Fox News “surely planned to furnish [accused Charleston mass-murderer Dylann] Roof with an alibi regarding the exact nature of his heinous crime,” and declared that “if Roof is convicted I suggest we regard Fox as an accessory after the fact.”
Palumbo-Liu also claimed that Fox News “provides a…

Megyn Kelly, Ann Coulter Slam Media Hypocrisy on Cruz AP Photos
On Monday's The Kelly File, Ann Coulter and host Megyn Kelly hit liberal hypocrisy in reaction to a series of AP photos that appeared to show a gun pointed at the head of 2016 presidential candidate Ted Cruz (R-TX). Both Coulter and Kelly were stunned that the AP actually suggested that these photos were unintentional. Coulter noted that this “is so outrageous. Don't insult our intelligence by…

Roman Holiday: Media Ignore Massive Italian Traditional Marriage March
On June 20, a rally in support of traditional marriage drew between 300,000 and 1 million people to Rome. No major news reported on the event, which is strange, considering how much they love reporting on marriage-centric marches.
No one would accuse popular media outlets like USA Today, CNN, and ABC News of ignoring the gay marriage movement, or gays in general. They spent gallons of ink and…
