Reacting on Thursday morning’s CNN Newsroom to Samantha Bee’s jumbled apology the night prior for calling First Daughter Ivanka Trump the c-word, CNN political commentator and HLN host S.E. Cupp took Bee to task for her apology being “couched in like a dozen different codicils” and, worst of all, “virtue-signaling” without a heartfelt apology to Ivanka herself.
To begin Thursday’s edition of HLN’s Unfiltered, host S.E. Cupp walked her viewers through how the liberal media’s double standard for punishing vile comments works. Between Roseanne Barr, Keith Olbermann, Joy Reid, and now Samantha Bee, there were a plethora of examples for her to choose from. But her most stern and forceful condemnation was reserved for ESPN and their parent company Disney for hiring Olbermann despite his membership in what she called the “misogynists’ club.”
During Wednesday’s S.E. Cupp Unfiltered, CNN senior media reporter Brian Stelter and HLN host S.E. Cupp bought into Stahl’s questionable claims and used them to bash the President as a beacon to authoritarian dictators the world over. “So what I've been saying for 18 months is confirmed,” Cupp self-righteously declared. “President Trump's war on the media is intentional and the goal is to create confusion and sow distrust.”
The liberal media made fools out of themselves Wednesday as nearly every major news outlet rushed to breathlessly report that President Trump had called all illegal immigrants to the United States “animals.” Of course, the glaring problem with their claims was that they were totally false. And despite the fact the media had to issue reams of retractions and corrections, NBC Nightly News and Spanish-language networks Univision and Telemundo kept up the charade Thursday evening.
Just two days after entertainment magazine Variety published former NBC correspondent Linda Vester’s sexual harassment allegations against NBC legend Tom Brokaw, more than 60 women from the network signed their names to a letter defending his character. But on Tuesday, it was revealed that NBC had put tremendous pressure on the women to sign the letter. On Unfiltered that evening, host S.E. Cupp ripped into them for rushing to his defense as two additional women have spoken out.
Normally, HLN’s S.E. Cupp Unfiltered can be counted on to push back against the liberal media when they get stirred up into one of their nonsensical frenzies with the most recent case being the gun control debate. But on Tuesday, Cupp parroted the CNN company line by condemning Sinclair Broadcast Group as nothing more than state-owned propaganda. She even took it a step farther and compared them to Heaven’s Gate suicide cult.
Recently, Connecticut Congresswoman Elizabeth Esty was exposed for shielding and supporting her former chief of staff, Tony Baker after he was accused of sexual harassment and threatening the life of another staffer. This story was first published online late last Thursday and appeared on the front page of The Washington Post the following day. The liberal major network news outlets (ABC, CBS, and NBC) ignored those revelations then, and on Monday they ignored Esty announcing that she would not seek re-election.
HLN conservative S.E. Cupp has been on a roll this week with her show (S.E. Cupp Unfiltered) drawing attention to the media’s massive liberal bias. First, a CNN host admitted he let an anti-gun teen get away with falsehoods, then she and her panel tore into the media for unfairly smearing Trump’s recent hires as unqualified talking heads. On Thursday, she ratcheted up the criticism by calling them out for being hostile to conservative views and hiring ones whose principles were squishy.
In what appeared to be a shot across the bow of their parent network CNN on Tuesday, the panel on HLN’s S.E. Cupp Unfiltered slammed media outlets who discredited President Trump’s new White House hires because they spent time on cable news. “So is the media smearing the President's pick just to beat up on Trump or are these TV talking heads actually dangerous,” conservative host S.E. Cupp wondered.
It’s not often that CNN media reporter Brian Stelter is honest about his blatant biases when it comes to politics, just take his assertions about the President’s mental fitness and his denials of making such connections. But during an appearance on the Monday edition of HLN’s S.E. Cupp Unfiltered, the Reliable Sources host appeared to let it slip that he let radical anti-gun activist David Hogg get away with making false claims about the guns and the NRA during a February 25 interview on his show.
Across the globe in India this past weekend, failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton targeted rural Trump voters with yet another stream of hatred. She smeared them as depressed, backward, and white in an ignorant tirade before a foreign crowd. But on the Tuesday edition of HLN’s Unfiltered, host S.E. Cupp unloaded on Clinton and called her out for being a “myopic self-centered self-righteous unaccountable and unrelatable political creature.”
In the wake of the Parkland school shooting, Florida liberals pushed a gun control bill they claimed was specifically to ban AR-15s and other military-looking weapons. The legislation was lauded by the liberal media, and when the Republican-controlled legislature voted not to have a debate on the bill, they went gaga over images of crying teens. But the panel on HLN’s S.E. Cupp Unfiltered read through the bill, and on Monday, they announced that it was designed to ban even hunting weapons.
