Morning Joe trashes newly-elected Republican Speaker Mike Johnson. Willie Geist, citing an unnamed source, describes Johnson as "Jim Jordan with a jacket and a better haircut." Charlie Sykes one-ups Willie, approvingly quoting Never Trumper ex-GOP congressman Adam Kinzinger as calling Johnson, "Jim Jordan in drag."  

The rash of current plea deals of former Trump lawyers and advisers to Fulton County prosecutor Fani Willis is causing the usual excitement -- and the usual premature glee -- on MSNBC's Morning Joe that the "walls are closing in" on Donald Trump and his post-election tactics.

Morning Joe mocks Republican Rep. James Comer, Chairman of the House Oversight Committee, as "Dumb-Moves Comer." This, despite the show having rolled a clip of Comer denouncing as a "dumb move" the decision of eight Republican Congressmen to remove Kevin McCarthy as Speaker, and block his replacement by Steve Scalise.

Morning Joe criticizes US news outlets that accepted Hamas's accusation that Israel was responsible for the explosion at a Gaza hospital.  But the show fails to mention Democrat Rep. Rashida Tlaib, who continues to accuse Israel even after Hamas's lie has been debunked.

On Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough argued that Donald Trump should be thrown in jail if he violates Judge Tanya Chutkan's gag order in the federal election interference case.

On his 80th birthday, Morning Joe hails Mike Barnicle—who was forced to resign by the Boston Globe for a variety of journalistic improprieties—"as one of the greatest columnists of the 20th century."

On Morning Joe, Willie Geist criticizes the weak and belated response of Harvard President Claudia Gay to the support by 33 student groups of the Hamas terror attacks on Israel. 

Criticizing the people who caused Kevin McCarthy to lose his Speakership, Joe Scarborough calls himself an "institutionalist" who had hoped that enough Democrats would vote "present" on the motion to vacate the Speakership to permit McCarthy to remain in power. On Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough says that if were advising Biden, he'd tell him to focus on the "unprecedented crisis" on the border, and to secure all funding necessary for border agents, judges, etc. Scarborough says that focusing on what's happening in Central America that's driving people to the US "doesn't work on the campaign trail.

On Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough suggests that being 80 is too old to be a competent worker on Joe Biden's campaign. He failed to recognize the implication. If 80's too old to be a campaign worker, it's way too old for someone, like Biden, to run the country!

With impeachment in the political headlines once more, Democrats and their media allies have formed a tight phalanx around President Biden, armed with a handful of fresh talking points. And unsurprisingly, it’s nearly impossible to distinguish the journalists from the politicians.

The Morning Joe panel unanimously calls Nikki Haley the winner of the second Republican presidential primary debate.  They award her the line of the night for, paraphrasing a line from the Billy Madison movie, she tells Vivek Ramaswamy, "every time I hear you, I feel a little bit dumber for what you say."

Joe Scarborough says Joe Biden doesn't need to wait for the writers strike to be over to get attack lines against Donald Trump for his speeches. Scarborough then proceeds to tick off a number of suggestions for Biden, to make the case that Trump has mental acuity issues of his own. 

Reacting to a new WaPo/ABC poll showing Biden losing to Trump by nine points, Joe Scarborough blasts people who wrote off Biden after his poor showings in the Iowa caucuses and the New Hampshire primary. Scarborough "forgets" that he was among those people, having written what amounted to Biden's political obituary at the time.
