Given how strongly journalists have used the Parkland shooting to promote gun control, it’s surprising to see a simple realization of how the current debate sounds to half the country. That observation occurred on Tuesday’s CBS This Morning as co-host John Dickerson mentioned his own relatives.

CBS This Morning journalists on Tuesday pestered Tom Cotton, wondering why the Republican Senator wasn’t offering up an immigration bill more to their liking. Co-host John Dickerson talked to the conservative and noted that his proposed bill “calls for $25 billion for a wall and border security, limits to family-based immigration, and an end to the diversity visa lottery program.” 

According to a CBS News/YouGov poll a pretty impressive 43 percent of Democrats approved of Donald Trump’s State of the Union speech. However, you wouldn’t know this if you only watched the next day’s editions of CBS This Morning or CBS Evening News. So far, only CBS’s streaming service CBSN has revealed that number. 

On Tuesday night, NBC threw what could be described as a hissy fit following President Trump’s first State of the Union address by attacking it as a “subdued,” “tired” President and speech that will keep “the fact checkers...busy” but didn’t address Russia or gun control.

Well, that didn’t take long. Minutes before President Trump’s first State of the Union address on Tuesday, the major broadcast networks pulled out the long knives to attack the “embattled” and “deeply unpopular” President leading a GOP that’s “paying the political price in recent special elections” for a presidency whom people believe is working “against them.”

ABC and NBC on Friday skipped the news that a photographer in 2005 agreed to cover up the photograph he took of then-Senator Barack Obama and notorious Jew hater Louis Farrakhan. Only CBS This Morning covered the story that a meeting took place between Obama, Farrakhan and the Congressional Black Caucus.  

ABC, CBS and NBC on Tuesday spun the end of the government shutdown from the perspective of angry liberals, hyping that Democrats are being “blasted by left-wing,” “progressives” who are unhappy about how the party bungled the impasse. 

The journalists at CBS This Morning on Monday placed the blame for the government shutdown on Donald Trump and the Republicans. Co-host Gayle King pressured the President to “do more” on ending the stalemate. The journalists failed to point out that Chuck Schumer in 2013 vowed not to shut down the government over immigration. 

CBS This Morning co-host John Dickerson on Friday touted Democratic talking points regarding a government shutdown. Talking to Senator Cory Gardner, Dickerson tried to explain away demanding a DACA fix in return for keeping the government open. He lectured the Republican: "And nothing focuses the mind like a hanging.” 

In a laughable article for Thursday’s Washington Post, the paper’s Weather Editor Jason Samenow assured readers that record-breaking cold temperatures being experienced across the country this winter were “exceptionally weird” and in no way challenged the theory of global warming.

CBS on Tuesday announced that John Dickerson will be taking over as co-host of CBS This Morning, replacing the disgraced Charlie Rose. Rose, when he wasn’t allegedly sexually harassing women, offered sycophantic liberal spin. Dickerson, in contrast might provide more balance than that as he’s conceded liberal bias on at least four separate occasions.

In the wake of Democrat Doug Jones winning the Alabama Senate race the previous night, many in the liberal media were celebrating Wednesday as analysts predicted dire days for the GOP in the near future. The same was true for CBS Evening News where they spent the first 7 minutes and 36 seconds (over three different segments) touting the result and hyping Democratic divination of future elections.

On CBS’s Face the Nation, moderator John Dickerson asked his political roundtable if there were any stories they felt were not getting enough news coverage. Predictably, the liberal journalists on the panel fretted that Republican efforts on the state level to “ban abortion” and engage in “voter suppression” were happening “completely under the radar.”
