The day before the Mississippi Senate runoff the liberal media trying desperately to drag Democrat Mike Espy over the finish line by dragging GOP Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith through the mud. They’re putting all their money into smearing Hyde-Smith as a racist and the product of a racist state. During their Monday evening newscasts, ABC, CBS, and NBC did everything they could to attack her, with one going so far as to attack her teenage daughter with lies about attending a segregated school.
On Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning, only CBS News covered North Dakota Senator Heidi Heitkamp becoming embroiled in a major scandal due to her re-election campaign publicly outing sexual assault survivors without their consent in a series of newspaper ads across the state. Meanwhile, NBC and ABC refused to acknowledge the negative headline for the vulnerable Democrat ahead of the midterm elections.
On Wednesday, the network morning shows all claimed the outcome of Ohio’s 12th Congressional District special election was “too close to call” despite Republican candidate Troy Balderson seeming to have won a narrow victory over Democrat Danny O’Connor. Despite that apparent result, reporters desperately spun the likely Democratic defeat as a “moral victory” and predicted electoral doom for the GOP in November’s midterm elections.
A danger is looming that journalists want to warn Americans about. ABC, CBS, MSNBC and CNN on Wednesday all fretted about Kansas’s possible new Republican gubernatorial candidate, labeling Kris Kobach a “hard-right,” “staunchly,” “incredibly conservative” choice. This kind of ideological hand-wringing stands in contrast to the warm response socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez received. She earned some labels, but enjoyed a gentle response from journalists.
This morning, the big three networks downplayed President Trump’s influence on some big state primary elections happening tonight and instead hoped for a massive “blue wave” to sweep across the nation. ABC’s coverage was the most biased, with correspondent Jonathan Karl gushing that the competition in one state was a “major sign of trouble for Republicans” and a “sure sign” that Democrats had the upper hand.
On Wednesday, all three network morning shows promoted video of left-wing protesters shouting profanity at Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen while she was trying to have dinner at Washington D.C. restaurant Tuesday night. The footage was provided to the liberal media by the radical political group itself, the Metro D.C. Democratic Socialists of America.
On Wednesday, correspondents on ABC’s Good Morning America and CBS This Morning breathed a collective sigh of relief as they reported that Democratic congressional candidates had not been shut out of key House races after Tuesday’s jungle primary in California, in which only the two top voter getters, regardless of party, advance to the general election in November.
All three network morning shows on Wednesday celebrated “history being made” and “progress” after female Democratic candidates won primaries in several states on Tuesday. The broadcasts were particularly enthralled by African American state legislator Stacey Abrams winning Georgia’s Democratic gubernatorial primary and openly gay former sheriff Lupe Valdez winning the same contest in the state of Texas.
Friday afternoon, Republican Senator Rand Paul suffered a minor injury when he was attacked as he was mowing the lawn at his home. Most press coverage thus far has failed to note that Paul was present at the baseball practice where Congressman Steve Scalise of Louisiana and three others were shot in June, or that the FBI reportedly believes that yesterday's attack on Paul was politically motivated.
CBS This Morning on Tuesday devoted two segments to hammering Donald Trump on Hurricane Harvey, wondering if the storm will derail his fall plans on taxes, building a wall and for any plans he had on ending the so-called Dreamer program. Additionally, the journalists again hit the President for visiting Texas too soon.
Washington Post journalist Ed O’Keefe on Wednesday attempted to spin away yet another loss for Democrats in a congressional election. Appearing on CBS This Morning, he even insisted that the GOP going four-for-four in congressional races is a potentially bad “sign” for 2018. Talk about fake news.
With CNN’s recent boasting of increased sales of George Orwell’s 1984 in response to President Donald Trump, and with their accusations of the administration gaslighting the country, it’s quite hypocritical of them to have a panelist on that appears the be practicing his own doublespeak. During Sunday’s Inside Politics, Washington Post writer Ed O’Keefe hammered the president and Republicans for daring to use the words “illegals” and “illegal aliens.”
