Journalistic standards and ethics no longer exist. That has become painfully obvious as the Kavanaugh confirmation process has dragged on. Wednesday saw a third outlandish accusation (a fourth and fifth by nightfall) that the liberal media pounced on with a blatant disregard for the facts and no curiosity for the truth. During their evening newscasts, the major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) threw objectivity in the trash as they smelled blood in the water. Buckle up.
It’s truly amazing to witness how fast the liberal narrative changes in a week. Last Tuesday, ABC’s World News Tonight was deeply frightened by the idea that the 11 Republican men on the Senate Judiciary Committee would be asking the questions to Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s accuser, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford. This Tuesday, they did a complete 180 and were huffing about the panel hiring a female lawyer to ask their questions for Thursday’s scheduled hearing.
There was a bit of good news Thursday after President Trump announced that two of the 55 sets of Korean War remains returned by the North were identified. The remains were those of Army Master Sergeant Charles McDaniel and Army Private First Class Williams Jones. The identification of the remains would surely bring closure to their families, but NBC Nightly News didn’t think it was worth mentioning.
Sadly, since coming forward with accusations of sexual assault against Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and her family have received numerous death threats. During that time, Kavanaugh and his family have also received horrific treatment. Despite the seriousness all around, ABC’s World News Tonight sided with Ford on Thursday by choosing to only report the threats to her and threw those against Kavanaugh in the trash.
With a week to go until the scheduled Senate Judiciary Committee hearing to interview Judge Brett Kavanaugh and his accuser Christine Blasey Ford, the liberal media were frantically trying to paint the proceedings as misogynistic Republican men beating up on an innocent victim. Both ABC’s World News Tonight and NBC Nightly News spent a whole segment during their Tuesday broadcasts stoking those fears.
On Tuesday, excerpts from Watergate journalist Bob Woodward’s new book Fear: Trump in the White House began circulating among the liberal media, who wasted little time in using them to trash the President. During the evening newscasts, ABC, CBS, and NBC racked up over 13 minutes of coverage pushing the book’s claims. They basically gave it free advertisements.
The South African government has begun seizing land from white farmers, following an August 1 ruling which amended that nation’s constitution to legalize the practice. Despite the disturbing ramifications of this human rights abuse at the hands of a foreign government, both cable and network news have remained stubbornly silent on the issue.
They either know they’re pushing a false claim or they need to get their heads checked. On Monday evening, the liberal broadcast networks of ABC and NBC continued their fake news campaign by pushing a false claim that President Trump only recently admitted the infamous Trump Tower meeting was for opposition research, when, in fact, he admitted it over a year ago.
At a Wednesday press conference in the White House Rose Garden, President Trump and E.U. Chief Executive Jean-Claude Juncker announced that the two trade partners were moving forward on a plan to end their trade war. Juncker’s presence at the White House illustrated that it was the E.U. that caved under pressure, but the liberal broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) were having none of it and refused to give Trump the win.
Liberal ABC and NBC were in a full-blown meltdown Monday night after the White House announced the President was looking to revoke the security clearances of six former intelligence officials, whom they contend abused the privilege of retaining it after their tenure. They even tried to pretend most of the officials named weren't Obama appointees.
During Monday’s edition of World News Tonight, ABC demonstrated what they really thought of President Trump when they pushed political accusations that he committed an act of treason during his press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin. And that’s not hyperbole. The on-screen headline ABC ran with stated it definitively: “Critics: Trump’s Press Conference ‘Treasonous’”.
All three networks broke in with live coverage of the presidential press conference in Helsinki, Finland this morning, as President Trump met with Russian leader Vladimir Putin. After setting the stage with pessimistic predictions and whining during their morning shows today, ABC broke in shortly before to compare Trump to Obama and Hillary Clinton, arguing that they were much tougher on Russia than Trump has been. Jonathan Karl even quoted a factually untrue smear tweet from an Obama official and used it to play up the former president’s record with Putin.
