Women matter, but only if they’re already born – at least according to the networks on Ireland’s recent abortion vote. On Friday, May 25th, Ireland voted to repeal the country’s Eighth Amendment that banned abortion. In many of their segments, the broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC) framed the repeal as a win for “women’s rights” against a “highly restrictive” law.  

Appearing on MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell Reports Friday afternoon to blast the NFL’s new policy against national anthem protests, Sports Illustrated writer Jonathan Jones slammed the League for calling on player’s to show respect during the patriotic ceremony and ranted that Commissioner Roger Goodell was just trying to appeal to “white male conservative” fans.

After the media got caught distorting President Trump’s comments labeling murderous MS-13 gang members “animals” as an attack on all immigrants, on Thursday afternoon, MSNBC only briefly corrected the record before immediately blaming the President for press “confusion” on the topic given his history of saying “incendiary and racist things” in the past.

The news that the National Rifle Association has chosen Oliver North as the organization’s next president left NBC “baffled” on Tuesday. Both the Today show and CBS This Morning focused heavily on the “controversial” figure’s connections to the Iran-Contra scandal from 30 years ago.  

Appearing on Wednesday’s NBC Today show to promote the Tribecca Film Festival, actor Robert De Niro also happily discussed his cameo on Saturday Night Live portraying Special Counsel Robert Mueller, even hoping for future skits where he could arrest Donald Trump and throw him jail.

Viewers may have temporarily forgotten they were watching MSNBC Thursday afternoon when 1:00 p.m. ET hour anchor Craig Melvin and his political panel hammered former Vice President Joe Biden for threatening President Trump with physical violence and even dismissed the “frustrated” and “bitter” Democrat for considering a 2020 presidential run.

Appearing on the 1:00 p.m. ET hour of MSNBC on Monday, New York Times reporter Jeremy Peters proclaimed that Arizona Senator Jeff Flake’s outrageous comparison of President Trump to mass-murdering Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin was actually an attempt by the retiring Republican lawmaker to “save” the GOP.
