In the morning after Russian President Vladimir Putin all but annexed two Ukrainian provinces, the major broadcast network newscasts largely chose Tuesday to absolve President Biden and his team for Putin feeling emboldened to take another step in what he views as reclaiming the old Russian empire.

Sparks flew during a Thursday press briefing at the State Department where Associated Press diplomatic writer Matt Lee verbally duked it out with spokesperson Ned Price over accusations the U.S. was making, suggesting Russia was planning “false flag” operations in Ukraine; complete with propaganda videos and detailing specific scenes.

As tensions between Russia and Ukraine continue to intensify on Tuesday, the liberal evening news broadcast networks have continued to cover the Biden administration's tough talk and threats towards Russia to help him look like he's handling it competently. Meanwhile, they're giving little airtime to congressional Republicans' criticisms that he's not doing enough and going it too slowly.
