On Eve of Obama Speech, MSNBC's Schultz Accuses GOP of Overreach

November 19th, 2014 5:47 PM
Tomorrow night, Barack Obama is set to announce an executive amnesty by which he will refuse to enforce U.S. immigration law by halting deportations of illegal immigrants. The president's in-your-face disregard for his constitutional obligations as the nation's chief executive have left some congressional Republicans mulling over the possibility of defunding said executive amnesty as a condition…

When asked about the ramifications of potential executive action on immigration, incoming Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) suggested such action by President Barack Obama would "poison the well". McConnell need no longer concern himself with that eventuality, given a recent tweet by Univision's Jorge Ramos.

O'Donnell Can't Find Any Democrat Justifying Work Docs for Illegals

November 18th, 2014 2:12 PM
Although MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell claims that President Obama has the prosecutorial discretion not to deport illegal aliens, he can't find any legal justification for work documents to be issued to them in the proposed executive order. Not only could his  Democrat guest, Representative Peter Welch of Vermont, come up with such legal justfication but O'Donnell claimed he spent several days…

Obama: Unfaithfully Executing the Law Since 2009

November 17th, 2014 5:27 PM
President Obama is soon expected to issue an executive order that would make it possible for some illegal immigrants, many of whom are the parents of children who are American citizens, to live and work in this country without the threat of deportation, in effect granting amnesty to up to five million people. Beyond concerns over the constitutionality of a president deciding which laws to uphold…

NYT: Obama Has GOP Where He Wants Them, Thanks to Clever Amnesty Ploy

November 15th, 2014 9:20 PM
President Obama has congressional Republicans right where he wants them, thanks to his clever constitutional bypass on immigration, if you believe the New York Times. Immigration is the issue the paper shows its most slant, and its latest story sports a familiar-sounding headline doubtless employed by the Times several times before: "Battle Over Immigration Poses Risks for G.O.P."

NYT, Wash Post Compete for Most One-Sided Coverage of Obama's Amnesty

November 14th, 2014 9:43 PM
The New York Times and Washington Post both enthusiastically greeted the announcement of President Obama's plans (conveniently announced after the election, constitutional objections aside) to bypass Congress and declare amnesty for some illegal immigrants, or as the Times cutely put it, "to enforce the nation’s laws with discretion."

AP's Werner Channels CBS's Cordes in Covering New House Members

November 9th, 2014 10:40 AM
Saturday morning, Erica Werner at the Associated Press, aka the Administratino's Press, channeled her inner Nancy Cordes to play "gotcha" with Republicans who won election to the House on Tuesday. Werner's report essentially regurgitated Cordes's petulance in the CBS reporter's question directed at House Speaker John Boehner on Thursday. Cordes identified supposedly stupid or ill-advised things…

The headline at a story by Nedra Pickler and Erica…

When she finally deigned to discuss the issue, Welker suggested that Republicans pass immigration legislation so that Obama doesn't "…

Scarborough, Heilemann to GOP: Ignore Rush, Do Deals With Obama

November 7th, 2014 8:11 AM
Rush Limbaugh likes to say that when the liberal media says "talk radio," they mean him.  Rush's point was perfectly illustrated on today's Morning Joe.  John Heilemann first spoke of "talk radio  . . . howling" at Boehner and McConnell not to capitulate to President Obama.  Just a moment later, Heilemann made explicitly clear whom he had in mind: "you got to listen to Rush Limbaugh for just one…
