During Wednesday’s coronavirus press conference at the White House, ABC’s Cecilia Vega and PBS’s Yamiche Alcindor worked together to claim that President Trump’s use of the term “Chinese virus” was “racist” and “puts Asian Americans at risk.” Alcindor even touted rumors of an unknown administration official using an offensive term to describe the disease.

On Tuesday, far-left weekend MSNBC anchor Joy Reid took to Twitter to conduct an informal poll on whether Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell had “credibility.” This is the same Joy Reid who falsely claimed in 2018 that offensive past posts on her now-defunct blog were caused by hacking.  

During Tuesday’s White House press briefing from the Coronavirus Task Force, a reporter fretted that President Trump using the phrase “Chinese virus” in a tweet was creating a “stigma” about the disease. In response, the President reminded the media that China chose to spread lies and conspiracy theories in an effort to cover-up the extent of the virus in the early days.

It follows an alternate history of America, has pointed commentary about politics, and debuted while Trump is still president. But how bad can it really get? On her 2:00 p.m. ET hour show on Monday, MSNBC anchor Katy Tur denounced President Trump for shaking hands and touching the microphone during a coronavirus press conference on Friday. The scolding came despite the fact that National Institutes of Health director Dr. Anthony Fauci rejected the notion that those minor interactions endangered anyone’s health.  

On Friday, MSNBC was eager to exploit the coronavirus to bash cable competitor Fox News, accusing the rival network of spreading “misinformation” about the disease and even endangering the lives of its viewers. The discussion took place on the same show that labeled the virus President Trump’s “Chernobyl” on Thursday.

On Thursday morning, while previewing an upcoming speech from former Vice President Joe Biden on coronavirus, MSNBC correspondent Mike Memoli gushed that the global pandemic and Trump administration response would “gift wrap” a political “opportunity” for the Democratic frontrunner.
