During an interview with Florida Senator Marco Rubio on Wednesday’s CBS This Morning, co-host Gayle King claimed it was “offensive” for President Trump to highlight the victims of MS-13 gang violence during the State of the Union address and argued that he was trying to paint all immigrants as criminals. The Republican lawmaker immediately called out her unfair accusation.

Appearing on ABC’s Good Morning America Wednesday morning to review President Trump’s State of the Union address, Chief Political Analyst Matthew Dowd worried that he “didn’t get any sense there was any room for compromise” in the speech and even proclaimed that the nation was as divided today as it was during the Civil War.

On Tuesday, Tom Brokaw appeared on MSNBC’s Morning Joe to participate in the media-wide offensive against Congressman Devin Nunes’s classified memo. Mr. Brokaw declared that he had been loath to compare “what’s going on here" to the Watergate scandal, before proceeding to do exactly that.

On Tuesday, the panel of MSNBC’s Morning Joe turned the spin up to eleven following the House Intelligence Committee’s vote to release Devin Nunes’s classified memo to the public. The memo, which is currently awaiting review by the President, allegedly details abuses of FISA surveillance protocols by high-ranking Justice Department officials.

On Monday, all three network morning shows read from the same script as they tried to preempt President Trump’s State of the Union address with dour coverage of “controversies looming” over the speech and the President’s “record-low approval rating.” The broadcasts also touted how “deeply divided” the nation was on the eve of Trump’s remarks.

On January 11, Nancy Pelosi slammed as "crumbs" the wage increases and bonuses well over 100 companies had announced at that point after the new tax law's passage in December. Thursday, she went to the same well more stridently. The establishment press, including the Associated Press, still won't report Pelosi's and others' similar comments, because they know how toxic they are.

On Thursday afternoon, MSNBC host Katy Tur ended the 2:00 p.m. ET hour of MSNBC Live by fretting over the failure of gun control advocates to enact any new gun restrictions since the Sandy Hook killings of 2012. She ended up rhetorically suggesting that Americans are "okay with kids killing kids."

MSNBC's Stephanie Ruhle interviewed Stephen Cloobeck, "a big-time Democratic donor," on Thursday. At one point, she characterized Cloobeck, the former Chairman of Diamond resorts, as "in the middle," i.e., supposedly moderate. He sure didn't come across that way.

The Associated Press reported early Thursday that the bill which ended the government shutdown contains Obamacare-related tax cuts, indicating that Republicans got even more of what they've wanted as a condition for ending the government shutdown.
