OMITTED: Networks Avoid Democrat Video Calling for Military Personnel to Disobey Orders

November 19th, 2025 2:23 PM

Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.) is already exploring a run for president, and apparently one way to get Democrat primary voters excited is by suggesting military personnel should rebel against President Trump and refuse to accept his orders. On Tuesday, Slotkin posted a video featuring five other congressional Democrats urging the military to resist Trump "to stand up for our laws and our Constitution."

Now imagine if congressional Republicans put out a video in 2021 advising the military to disobey President Biden. The word "insurrection" would come out of the elitist media in no time. The spirit of January 6! But you won't find any TV coverage from the major networks on this one. Fox News, Newsmax, and News Nation covered the controversy.

Featured in the ad alongside Slotkin (formerly CIA) is Sen. Mark Kelly of Arizona (Navy), as well as House members Jason Crow of Colorado (Army Ranger), Chris Deluzio of Pennsylvania (Navy), Chrissy Houlahan of Pennsylvania (Air Force) and Maggie Goodlander of New Hampshire (Intelligence officer and wife of Biden national security adviser Jake Sullivan).

Let's guess these are the kind of military and intelligence personnel that anonymously leak like sieves to the leftist media to "patriotically" undermine Republican presidents.

This is the script, which rotates between the six Democrats:

We want to speak directly to members of the military and the intelligence community who take risks each day to keep Americans safe.

We know you are under enormous stress and pressure right now.

Americans trust their military. But that trust is at risk.

This administration is pitting our uniformed military and intelligence community professionals against American citizens. Like us, you all swore an oath to protect and defend this Constitution. Right now, the threats to our Constitution aren’t just coming from abroad, but from right here at home.

Our laws are clear.

You can refuse illegal orders. (Repeated twice.)

You must refuse illegal orders.

No one has to carry out orders that violate the law or our Constitution. We know this is hard. And it’s a difficult time to be a public servant. But whether you’re serving in the CIA, the Army, our Navy, the Air Force, your vigilance is critical. And know that we have your back. Because now, more than ever, the American people need you. We need you to stand up for our laws, our Constitution, and who we are as Americans.

Don’t give up. (Repeated twice.)

Don’t give up the ship.

In an interview about the ad with The New York Times, Sen. Slotkin raised the issue of attacking drug boats in Venezuela. This notion of disobeying Trump orders was also promoted by PBS News Hour recently.

“There’s a real issue there of morale and a feeling like they don’t have a lot of senior leaders who are protecting them,” Ms. Slotkin said. “There’s a lot of folks in the rank and file who feel very alone.”....

“I feel I’ve been a one-note song on these issues from the moment I entered the Senate, and they do not respond,” Ms. Slotkin said.

Slotkin also professed concern about sending in the military to American cities, which the Democrats can't stand.

At least the Times mentioned Republican criticism of the ad. Sen. Eric Schmitt (R-Mo.) slammed the Dems in a post that read, “At the end of the day, they’re mad the American people chose Trump and now they’re calling on the Military and Intelligence Community to intervene. Sounds a little ‘subversive to democracy-ish.'”
