NewsBusters Podcast: The Elites Explode Before Tucker's Putin Gabfest

February 7th, 2024 10:35 PM

Tucker Carlson announced he's in Moscow to interview Vladimir Putin. Elitists like Bill Kristol and Adam Kinzinger exploded in anger at the "traitor," who somehow shouldn't be allowed back in the country. Journalists have been known to interview anti-American tyrants before, so what gives?

Barbara Walters, George Stephanopoulos, Charlie Rose, and Megyn Kelly (in her NBC days) all interviewed Putin, and the elites never trashed them as "traitors." Could we wait and see what happens?

Lester Holt just interviewed Iran's ambassador to the United Nations for the NBC Nightly News, and no one called him a "traitor" for interviewing someone from an an authoritarian anti-American regime.

We also discuss Joy Reid praising Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney on the Colbert show, Elon Musk getting "fact checked" for suggesting Team Biden is importing future voters from Mexico (you can't say that!), the New York Times drama over 'book bans" in the flyover states, and the hubbub and folderol over a Wall Street Journal op-ed designating Dearborn, Michigan as "America's Jihad Capital."

Team Biden declined once again to participate in a softball interview before the Super Bowl, which rotated to CBS this year. Are they really afraid of Obama-loving Gayle King? They're just afraid of Biden stepping in gaffe doo-doo, or getting cranky when someone asks the most mildly challenging question. The Bidenites lamely claimed they're being "more creative" and going around the traditional media, since the voters don't really follow traditional media any more.

And the traditional media has no self-respect. That answer doesn't make them angry at all. Why wouldn't the Democrats avoid interviews with other Democrats? Who needs the trouble?
