NewsBusters Podcast: Joy Behar Cries 'Mental Illness' on Gun Rights

After two mass shootings in California, ABC's The View crew is back in gun-hating mode, and Joy Behar said America needs to "grow up" about guns. “There’s like a mental illness going on in the country that has to be stopped immediately.” She went on to suggest that President Biden’s efforts to stop them were being thwarted by “people who are getting money from the gun lobby and who want to keep [mass shootings] going. It's disgraceful.”

NewsBusters Associate Editor Nick Fondacaro joins the show to discuss the recent stories around California and guns and how self-defense is either ignored or disdained by the networks. On PBS, they're lamenting that the Second Amendment is curbing their desires for "gun safety reforms." On CBS, anchor Norah O'Donnell at least suggested to California Gov. Gavin Newsom that his state's strict gun laws didn't prevent mass shootings as he said the Second Amendment was a "suicide pact."
