NEW NewsBusters Podcast: Saint Nikole Hannah-Jones and the 1619 Puffers

July 7th, 2021 9:09 PM

New York Times writer Nikole Hannah-Jones has become a massive celebrity on the left for heading up the "1619 Project" at her paper.  Even after her paper had to publish a "clarification" of her historical errors, she won a Pulitzer Prize.

It was hot news when her alma mater, the University of North Carolina, made her a professor but then had a controversy over awarding her tenure. The liberal networks competed furiously to get the first interview with Hannah-Jones as she showily spurned UNC in favor of Howard, the black university in DC. CBS This Morning star Gayle King won the puffery contest.

MRC media analyst and video whiz Bill D'Agostino joins the show to discuss the media's attempt to peel the controversy off of Critical Race Theory in our schools, including the 1619 Project curriculum in more than 4,000 schools. Some stories end up sounding something like "they're not teaching Critical Race Theory in schools, but it's an awesome idea and it's about time we teach our real history of systemic racism."
